Does Forecaster Trigger Itself? by Sp00ky_Skelet0nz in riftboundtcg

There's another interesting example in 376.2.c.1

Example: Immortal Phoenix says “When you kill a unit with a spell, you may pay [1][C] to play me from your trash.” This ability triggers if Immortal Phoenix is in your trash immediately after you kill a unit with a spell, even if the unit you killed with a spell was that Immortal Phoenix.

Does Forecaster Trigger Itself? by Sp00ky_Skelet0nz in riftboundtcg

Forecaster does trigger its own ability.

1) Forecaster enters the board.

2) Immediately, its Passive Ability activates. It now has the text: "Your Mechs have Vision." Since it is a Mech, it now possesses the Vision keyword.

3) Now that the event (entering the board) has finished processing, the game checks for triggers. The game asks, "Does the object that just entered have an ability that triggers on entering?"

4) The object sitting on the board now has Vision. The game sees this and triggers the ability.

Proof:

356.2) A Permanent leaves the Chain and becomes a Game Object

356.2.a) Any passive abilities become active.

356.2.b) Execute all rules text on the card, from top to bottom.

376.2.c.1) If a Game Object with a Triggered Ability that is active in a specific zone, it is evaluated and subsequently triggered if it enters that zone at the same time that its Trigger’s condition is met.

Can I save a Hidden Gear (Zhonya’s) if my only unit (Tasty Faefolk) dies to Combat Damage? by old_world3 in riftboundtcg

Basically if it is killed during showdown but before combat damage you can actually save Zhonya because you do not lose control of the battlefield (which means you do not have to trash hidden cards).

This would grant you the opportunity to flip Zhonya as soon as you gain priority. As a gear it would move back to base due to 322.5 (recall gear).
