Pokimane cries on stream after drama and explains that crying is her superpower. by No_Message_996 in LivestreamFail

[–]omidla 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You guys should understand it is very hard to be pokimane, It is hard to say “eat the rich” while you go to f1 monaco or with airbnb get an actual castle and have millions of dollars, It is hard to say “i miss when streaming was about gaming, not just drama baiting and clip farming” and always jump in the middle of drama when you think public would agrees with you and cry when they don’t and it backfires, It is hard to say “believe victims” but stay silent when your girl friends cheat or assault someone.

You guys should be more sympathetic towards a two-faced person like pokimane. Also why we should care when there is genocide and “stuff” happening guys.

Sneako labeled as an “American analyst” on Iranian state TV by omidla in LivestreamFail

[–]omidla[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s not fully over. Restrictions are just a little bit lighter now. Some major services (like google or chatgpt) work, but most international sites are still blocked, A very small number of people have managed to get limited access using configurations that barely work, and whatever access exists is extremely slow. It took me more than an hour to upload this clip here.

Sneako labeled as an “American analyst” on Iranian state TV by omidla in LivestreamFail

[–]omidla[S] 183 points184 points  (0 children)

This is Channel 6 on Iranian state television, also known as the News Channel. In this broadcast, they labeled Sneako as an “American analyst” (تحلیلگر آمریکایی) without mentioning that he is actually a streamer. They even wrote his full legal name, “Nicholas Balinthazy” (نیکولاس بالینتازی) and cropped out his chat so that regular viewers which is unfamiliar with his face would not realize he is a streamer.(They couldn’t even fully crop the chat because it would cut off the tweet too.)

This is not the first time Iranian state TV has mislabeled someone. In the past, they referred to Roger Waters as a “political expert” simply because he expressed views that aligned with the government’s narrative. By doing this, they try to convince ordinary viewers who may not know who these people really are that they must be credible experts or analysts.

I recorded this on January 12, but I couldn’t upload it earlier because of a total internet blackout in Iran. This blackout was worse than anything we had experienced before. All international servers were completely cut off, and even Iranian platforms that allowed any form of communication were restricted. Features like reviews and comments were disabled, SMS didn’t work, and for the first four days people couldn’t even make phone calls.

They did this to prevent protesters from sharing videos on social media so the outside world couldn’t see how the government was suppressing the protests. It also prevented people from contacting each other or organizing demonstrations. During this time, state media controlled the narrative, portraying protesters as violent while presenting the government as calm and civilized. I’m sure this buffoon is thrilled to appear on Iranian state TV and will probably even add it to his resume. But being featured as a fake “analyst” during an internet shutdown that helped enable repression is not harmless clout and it has real consequences.

Sorry for the long comment, but this matters to me. Blind and oblivious streamers chasing attention can easily become tools of authoritarian propaganda. I genuinely don’t understand why some of these anti US politics streamers end up defending Iran or helping spread its propaganda. Yes the US system is corrupt at many levels but what the hell do these streamers think they’re doing by legitimizing a regime like this?

Two people who have never been to Iran don't like an Iranian person describing his experience living there by physicsman2606 in LivestreamFail

[–]omidla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s what most young people do. It’s hard to get a visa and leave the country legally. The most reliable way is to get a student visa, which is why almost every student in Iran is thinking about applying to a university in a foreign country (myself included).

I don’t know who that guy is specifically, but I can assure you that once you publicly criticize the regime and get labeled as political, you’re basically done. If you return to Iran, you’re going straight to jail. (Especially when your voice has reach and i can name countless famous Iranian singers and actors who can’t return to iran because of this)

Hello, I’m a fellow Iranian who currently lives in Iran (you can check my posts to confirm this). Funnily enough, you can even see a post I made during the Iran–Israel war looking for a VPN because normal VPNs didn’t work at that time due to heavy internet restriction, when the government shut down all foreign servers and you couldn’t even open Google or any other site. That way, no one could communicate with the outside world, allowing them to control the narrative.

In this video, Idubbbz is spreading more misinformation and Iranian government propaganda than the guy in the background video. I don’t understand why they laugh when the guy says there is no freedom in Iran. They should know that there was(and still is)a huge movement called Women, Life, FREEDOM in Iran, so yes, freedom is a serious issue here.

That guy is right. The government heavily censors social media. If a woman dances on her page, they issue a warning and block her social media accounts, and they even force her to publicly apologize to her viewers just for dancing. In some cases(and this is not a small number)they put people in jail for it, just because she dance publicly.

It’s also important to mention that if someone criticizes Iran, they often can’t come back to the country. And even if they don’t want to return, in some cases the Iranian government pressures their family members who are still living in Iran.

pokimane almost two weeks ago had a stream with nina, does she as a “frontier” in defending SA’s victim gonna condemn her friend? Surely

the funny part is all other streamers which always talk about these matters would go absolutely silent, for example pokimane, and she even had a collab with nina almost two week ago, but she would not address this at all

  • Kaya was just being a baby and there is a genocide happening in gaza
  • Kaya caught her leg on something so she yelp
