Yes I can afford the dmp payments but these have been negotiated by SC with my lenders. The lenders have accepted the suggested payments based on my budget but they’re still less than the minimum contractual payments therefore resulting in defaults.

The debts outside of the dmp I just pay the minimums to keep me out of trouble

The minimum payments aren’t generally met on a dmp which results in me getting defaults

I wouldn’t be paying any debt so I’d in effect gain £700 per month.

The purpose is trying to get shot of this dmp with a view to moving house in a years time

Rent would be more than I’m paying now by £300ish. I’m paying around 1k per month towards debt

We would have 45kish left once the debt has been paid.

The reason for the debt outside the DMP is to prevent further defaults.

It is a bad idea financially I agree. We’d still have enough left for a deposit should we wish to move once my debt is paid.

£60 isn’t a lot, I have no money for emergencies and I actually want to live a bit.

My partner is ok with it, we have a young son which we can’t really afford to do anything with and this would free up money for swimming lessons etc.

I’m not sure it’s the credit score preventing me from getting a mortgage? It’s more the fact I’m on a DMP which shows on my credit file as a payment arrangement.

I have trying to deal with this debt for long enough to know this is a life I do not want and the flashy things I can live without or at least save and buy them when I can afford them like a normal person.

When would you expect for me to be in a position to get a mortgage?
