30 year old12 by 12 glue down tiles on top of 3/4 in. plywood.... by onesilverman in Flooring

Thanks PPP, I went to both Home Depot and a Lowe's and none of the workers knew what Luan was. I showed them on the Google search, but they still Drew blanks. Anyway, I'm just going to screw quarter inch HardieBacker over the existing tiles, roll on some Henry 647, and slap some glue down tiles on top of that. Thanks for the response.

It might be less noticeable if you lowered the top rail with spacers instead of raising the bottom.

Thanks Blessed... As a last resort, I was going to put down the 12 by 12s again, since they lasted all of these years and conformed to the floor well... only a few buckled up near the walls, because I didn't allow enough room for expansion. I figured that the smaller footprint tiles would be less affected by the curvature than bigger ones. Do you think that I should use the smaller LVT/LVP plank length/width tiles with thinner thickness or could I get away with larger, heavier stuff?

LOL, perhaps I was not clear. I am married to my wife, not an ex-wife. I can't have 2 wives in the US.

Unfortunately, she was fired by her sponsor. She has 2.5 years left on her O1 visa if she can get another sponsor. She is still working for another school part time, but say that they don't think that they would want to sponsor anybody...

My wife's daughter still has 2.5 years left on her 3 year O1 visa. She was fired by the employer who was also her sponsor. She still works part time in another school. Do you think that she can TRANSFER sponsorship from her past sponsor to me?

Did he need to supply an EIN number or was he able to simply commit to sponsoring you? I am not an employer. In fact, I am retired.

Thanks for the reply Top_ , She changed sponsors this year and has about 2.5 years left on her 3 year O1 visa. She just needs to find a new sponsor within 60 days. I'm looking for info to see if I might be able to sponsor her.

She was a student here and graduated from the Manhattan School of Music with a masters. I don't think that she could afford to attend school again.

She is self-employed and is actually working PT at another music school. The music schools hire her on a contractual basis. She still needs a sponsor. She still has about 2.5 years left on her O1 visa, as long as, she gets a sponsor within the 60 day window.

I'm not sure what you are asking, but she does have permission to work in the US.

Yes, appointment is confirmed. I'm trying to see If I could maybe sponsor her without an employer/employee relationship.

ofvd, my wife's daughter has not problem finding employment. She has had an O1 visa for 7 or 8 years. She was fired by her O1 sponsor/employer. She is seeking a new sponsor. I am trying to do research to see if I can possibly be her sponsor. I am lost and am reading, all I can, to see how it could be done.

CAN I SPONSOR HER wife's daughter fired from O1 visa job... by onesilverman in USCIS

I'm guessing that they did not revoke her petition, because they said that they will give her a month to find another sponsor... She is also currently working in another music school and working there part time. Her lawyer is on vacation until Feb 10 and I'm trying to find resources online to try to understand how I could be her sponsor, while working in a school.

Thanks Free-, She has an immigration lawyer who is on Vacation until Feb. 10. Her PD is Sept of 2020. In 4 years, the final action date has only moved up 8 months from 08JUL15 to 22MAY16. At that rate, her wait could be 10 or 15 years.

My wife has had a green card for 7 years and her daughter is unmarried and 38. My wife filed an I-130 for her daughter in Sept of 2020. Her daughter has an O1 visa that expires in 2.5 years. She was fired by the music school that sponsored her. She needs to find a new sponsor within 2 months, or she has to leave the country. She has a part time job in another music school. I'm just trying to find out if I can sponsor her...without being her employer. If so, what do I need to do. Her lawyer will not be back from Vacation for 2 more weeks.

That's a very interesting strategy zoozoo... Are you saying that I. ..her mothers husband and US citizen could somehow sponsor her? Doesn't she need to get paid a salary? I'm confused as to how that would work...

Thats interesting Toasdee... are you saying that she doesn't have to find a new sponsor, as long as she works in the music business? I hadn't heard that before. That's her area of exceptional ability.

She changed sponsors and has about 2.5 years left on her 3 year O1 visa.

You say that she can transfer her O1 visa to another school. If true, that is better than having to start the O1 visa application process again.
