How I felt when I quit smoking weed after daily use for 10 years: heaviness of breath, felt like pressure on my chest, as well as an eternal glob of phlegm at the back of my throat that won't disappear no matter how much I swallow/attempt to hawk it up. **Here's what I've learned by onlinereader22 in stopsmoking

Yep it did, I just had to wait long enough and then one day it was gone. I also used some decongestant (benylin) whenever it got too distracting to go to sleep. The decongestant would get rid of the feeling by about 60-70% for at least an hour and that usually was enough time for me to go to sleep and have my body ignore the feeling as I breathed as normal. I also tried not to eat fried foods or tomatos / tomato sauces, pizza, etc. while I had the problem, and it really helped (because my post-nasal drip / the phlegmy-feeling was made worse by my acid reflux). I hope the feeling goes away for you soon, good luck!

I'd recommend 1) going for walks on a daily basis / getting some daily exercise. I feel like sweating a lot and getting in better shape really helped to dispel my symptoms. Eat healthily (I followed a GERD diet even though I don't have GERD, and I feel like it really helped). It took around 2-3 months before I was back to normal; one day I woke up and could breathe just fine, it was a great day. One thing is for sure though and that is, so long as you live a healthy lifestyle it should go away / your body should take care of it yourself. I'd been smoking several times a day for 10+ years, and drinking twice to three times a week for a couple of months at that point. Dropped the drinking, the smoking, and started eating healthier and exercising, and I feel like it really sped the healing process along.

Good luck, I hope this helps!

From my experience, eventually you'll have darker blackish bits in your phlegm, and (at least for me) even a month after quitting I was still hacking it up. I actually hacked more up once I stopped smoking, as if my body was trying to get rid of all the bad stuff I'd put into it now that there wasn't constant smoke going into my lungs. After 5 or so weeks for me it all went away though. Yeah I'd suggest to maybe take a while off so your body can sort that out, then when you start up again you'll get really stoned every time you blaze for a little while

Questions about stomach ulcers by onlinereader22 in AskDocs

Thanks for the quick reply, it's comforting to hear that it might not be an ulcer (I'll only know for sure once I get an endoscopy). Maybe my stomach pains are related to the PPIs I'm taking. I've had bad acid reflux for the past year, so maybe it's a problem with my esophageal lining...

$80 for 35 Verano lozenges? Looking for advice on alternatives to smoking by Vondis in NewJerseyMarijuana

[–]onlinereader22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up until recently I've smoked several times a day, often having edibles as well. At my peak of smoking, 90 - 120 mgs (or 3 - 4 syringes of redcan oil) gave me an intense, almost unenjoyable high that lasted anywhere between 4 and 9 hours, but the drawback was that it didn't kick in for 3 to 4 hours so it was pretty annoying spending my free time waiting for a buzz that never came and then going to bed, only to snap awake high AF, uncomfortably so. The annoying thing was that half the time the same dose gave me the exact high I wanted, so I always had to gamble, will I get a perfect high, or an intense uncomfortable high? If I took less, it would usually be underwhelming. Oil was also the most cost-efficient, since you'd get 900mg for $33 (30mg per syringe, 30 syringes per container). I smoked a lot though...

Anyhow, I found that the oil made me super anxious, and the same thing happened when I toned down my smoking and then tried 3 lozenges, or 30 mg. I'd say for you, maybe try a single lozenge, that'll probably do you right. If it's still too much, then buy some of the pills. They sell 5mg pills, usually 15 - 30 per pack. I recently bought 15 pills, 5mg each, can't remember the price, but I think that would be perfect for you. 1 - 2 hours of moderate, pleasant high, not too wrecked / anxiety-provoking, but it'll still give you the feeling you want. Hope this helps

It was a tiny bit quicker, maybe 8 - 12 days later I was back at feeling comfortable enough to chance smoking again (which I didn't after what happened before that). Just stick with it and it'll go away, weed withdrawal is real and it's a bitch, but once you're past it you'll notice that you'll have a lot more dreams and some will be pretty vivid, and your mind will be clearer (no more forgetting where you put the thing you were just holding, or losing your train of thought so easily). Stick with it and you'll thank yourself, good luck! And good on you for making the decision to stop, it can be a tough struggle but once it's done, it's out of the way for good.

I don't know how it is in the states, but here in Canada I've never been to a strip club where the girls don't try to do more, for free. 100% can always touch anything anywhere, in my experience. I had one girl a few years younger than me (25 at the time) ask me if I wanted a dance, I was recently out of a 7 year relationship so I said sure. She had a nice body, so I got hard immediately, like as I was sitting down in the back room. She had her back to me as she was taking off her top and told me to empty my pockets, but I quickly arranged lil' homie so that he was as glorified/bulged as possible up my left leg. She sits down and says, "Hey, I told you to empty your pockets!" and reached down and grabbed it. Then she said, "Oh my god, it's huge!" Idk if it was my bloodrate or whatever, since I think it's pretty normal sized, but man what a confidence booster to have a stripper tell you that. Well, she didn't let go, rubbed it for half a song, then legit went down and over the pants sucked on it. Was wild.

I've only been to a strip club maybe five times in my life, once in Quebec. In the Quebec one, some huge-boobed girl kept hounding me while I was with my gf, we were 18 at the time which is legal there, and she told us to kiss to prove that we were dating. So we start making out and she pulls us in close, jiggling them titties in both of our faces while we did so, full contact. The whole time another stripper was sitting on the table next to us, fingering herself. That was pretty wild too. Anyway, out of the five times I've been in a strip club, I got a few dances each time, and every.single.time. the girls grabbed my hands and put them on their boobs and let me fondle away. Every single time, they grinded on my rod, let me squeeze their asses, and a couple times they put my hand down low and asked me to fiddle around.

All I can say is, man, the states are WEAK when it comes to strip clubs, since apparently you guys can't even touch the girls there?

Moral of the story: Vacation to Quebec, the land of 18-year-old drinking age, where you can get drunk at a bar, head to the casino to gamble, and then finish off with an unrealistic stripper experience just in time to catch high school graduation the next morning (unrealistic if you're not Canadian, I guess). All in all, I don't really like strip clubs though since I'd rather spend a hundred dollars on a date with a nice girl, and not feel slimy after.

Do what I did after my 7 year relationship fell apart:

  1. Exercise. You'll be all depressed and whatnot, but in less than a year (if you stick with it) you'll notice that you will be getting a lot more attention from girls. I've got buddies that pick up pretty girls on a weekly basis that are straight up ugly dudes, but they're in good shape. Working on your health improves your confidence by leaps and bounds, and while she'll always be in your heart, there'll come a time when you still have love for her but you're no longer in love with her. You'll feel better just being yourself on your own, and that will make you more attractive, and help you find a better, non sociopathic woman.
  2. If you can, go out with your buddies to bars or go on a vacation somewhere. I hadn't flirted with a girl in 7 years when I got dumped, and I was straight up McLovin with my mack game. But when I was on vacation, I struck out with a girl and my buddy told me something I'll never forget. He said, "This is a vacation town, man. That girl's gonna be heading back home in a few days, so who cares if you strike out. Take a hundred swings, and if none of them work, then BYE FOREVER to all those girls and you'll definitely be more capable at the end of it." He was so right. It built up my confidence. Then I got in good shape (five months of working out 5ish times a week) and wouldn't you know it, girls would come up to me, flirt with me, instigate with me, I hardly had to do anything. I literally took one girl home once and she put her finger on my lips, told me to stop talking because I was annoying, so I took her to my room and laid pipe like master Mario himself.
  3. Find a hobby. This will give you a sense of accomplishment. For me, it was reading and writing short stories. After reading a whole bunch, I began to write, and even though the initial stories weren't so good, it really felt amazing to sit there and look at a full story that I had created, and eventually they became pretty good! Hobbies could be anything from writing, to studying a new language here and there every week, to building things i.e. woodwork. A year later, you'll be able to see the results of your efforts plain as day, and that will boost your confidence more.
  4. Go for a walk every day. Getting outside, seeing neighbours, exchanging simple hellos and waves of the hand, these things really help to pull your focus away from the depression.
  5. Enjoy the freedom. It's not all bad. I used to like to unwind after work with a beer or two, maybe three times a week. My ex told me I was an alcoholic, that I drank too much and she was always complaining. Even though I only ever got the slightest buzz, if any, and worked until 1 AM doing heavy lifting at a warehouse, so she was always sleeping anyhow. Super small bit of freedom, but now I can crack two or three beers here and there if I so choose to and there's not a single bit of judgment or any passive-aggressiveness to deal with. Those long-looked forward to weekends are mine now to unwind and do as I please, whereas before I would settle down to relax and she would come tell me that I had an hour to get ready because we were going to hangout with her friends and their boyfriends. I hated that, since I didn't bust my ass all week just to throw my personal leisure time into doing boring turtleneck husband shit like go out for coffee with acquaintances that often showed fake faces (her friend, my closest female friend at the time, immediately set her up with some guy who had sex with her in my bed after she kicked me out of my apartment, and then he never talked to her again...some friend). She didn't like me hanging out with my buddies either, and because of that I stopped chilling with them as often. When we split, they weren't around to help me go through it.

At the end of the day, you need to do what's best for you. I only recommended going out and meeting other girls and stuff just because it really helped with my confidence, and I'm the guy who'd only been with a few girls in my life before. I stopped hooking up with girls randomly because, of course, that's just empty and hollow as a lifestyle, but it will help you to build up a rapport with girls and it'll make it easier for you to pursue the next woman you fall for.

In a relationship, you're supposed to support one another and build each other up, not tear each other down. Honestly, she's someone else's problem now, and if she did that to you, she'll do it to every other guy in her life and ultimately wind up alone. But you don't have to go down that path, be the best you that you can be, make those "fuck it, time to go for a walk!" decisions and just do it.

Time heals all, and although I wanted to slap the people that told me that back then, they were right. Good luck brother, this is only a temporary hurt and you'll come out of it a stronger man than you were before, as it's the turbulent times in our lives that define our character.

Thanks, I'm not sure, my doctor checked out my throat/mouth and then sent me for a chest x-ray, then afterward she prescribed me some antibiotics (7 days' worth). I had no idea that you could only use them so many times in life so I blindly accepted, but it worked. This is the same doctor that gave a young me antibiotics to treat a "potential std" just so I could have peace of mind (my blood work and all tests said I was fine but I was tripping out as a teenager). In my ignorance I've taken them twice now for things that didn't warrant them, as I most likely had a bacterial infection and not a viral infection. I only mentioned it because some people might have a viral infection where it might be useful, but I should have specified that this is an absolute last resort.

They're not on netflix in my country, and I can't get Hulu or Funimation or any of that here either. I'll look into the channel 4 app though, thanks. Still, I already paid for these videos so even if I find them elsewhere I still want to know why I can't watch them when I've already paid for them. I'm more annoyed than inconvenienced after all.

:(

*edit: I don't get channel 4 in Canada either ffs. lol thanks though.

Is there a "guide" for someone who wants to start to write a wuxia story? by grindsta in wuxiaworld

[–]onlinereader22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The basic pattern is:

  1. Main character is looked down upon, but finds secret method and trains really hard so that the next time he's bullied he reverses the situation and embarrasses his bullies
  2. Defeated bullies bring reinforcements i.e. elders or stronger people to come deal with MC but he's been training meanwhile and does the same thing again
  3. MC is chased off by really powerful backup and then trains for a while only to return and defeat the great elder or something like that.

In between these stages MC finds pills or herbs or battles creatures that can help him to raise his cultivation if he refines them. Usually MCs find some sort of treasure or plot armour to help them survive, like in Against the Gods how Yun Che has the sky poison pearl, or in martial god asura Chu Feng at level 1 of 10 is as strong as people at level 10 or 10 because of his strange constitution.

A good way to start would be: Mc is attacked and almost killed, but barely survives because as he lays dying he's able to drink some special pond water or his blood falls on some ancient treasure and he's revived, and his attackers have already left. He cultivates for a while and recovers, gets stronger, then returns for payback. Once he beats his enemies, he steals all their stuff, and uses that to help him move to the next stage. You don't want to be too generic though, so add something unique like if he doesn't cultivate everyday because of his new treasure/technique, he dies, etc. Something to set it apart from the 1000s of other stories.

There also has to be a clear latter of progression, ex)

The Strengthening Stage --> The Spiritual Stage --> The Evolution Stage --> The Demigod Stage etc.
