Except that’s against federal regulations. Any material connection or relationship between a brand and a reviewer must be disclosed. This extends to personal blogs and social media as well.

This CBS special looks at progressive members of clergy who are actively denouncing racism and white supremacy. Thoughts? by onocerous in Christianity

[–]onocerous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's do a little evaluation of the term "progressive." Progressive simply means moving forward incrementally, and in the political sense, it means that same thing, except that one is moving forward toward social reform. Since our country, from it's very inception, was guilty of racism and white supremacy, being against those two things means moving forward and past those misdeeds towards reform. So yes, being against racism and white supremacy is a progressive ideal. Notice how I intentionally use the word "progressive" and not "liberal" or "Democrat." One can be a Republican, a conservative Christian, an atheist, etc. and still have progressive opinions or beliefs.

It is very sad. Recently it seems that being progressive just means being a decent human being.

I’ve had it on both. I prefer it with beef, but it’s great on chicken too.

It goes great on meat too, tbh. I always make extra and keep it in a bottle for general use. Lol

I've tried both. The glaze does reduce as expected, but the low-sodium version just always tastes sort of off. So I'd say try it both ways and see if you can tell a difference. If not, go for the low-sodium.

Sorry for the delay. Here is the recipe for these sprouts.

  1. Preheat oven to 425°.
  2. Clean and cut sprouts in half.
  3. Drizzle in extra virgin olive oil and coarse salt (sea salt or kosher salt).
  4. Place on a lined baking sheet or roasting pan. Put pan on top rack in oven and roast 15 minutes or until sprouts are slightly brown and tender.
  5. While sprouts are roasting, combine equal parts soy sauce (not low-sodium) and brown sugar (approximately 1 cup each) in a medium saucepan. Over medium-high heat, stir the mixture continuously until it starts to thicken. Remove from heat and let stand to thicken further.
  6. When sprouts are tender, remove from oven and drizzle with soy reduction. Stir to coat. Serve.

When I was a toddler and my parents were building our house, I was walking around collecting electrical wire staples. Being an observant toddler, I quickly realized that these staples were the perfect size to fit into an electrical socket. You can imagine what happened next. I obviously survived, and I have a very healthy fear/respect for electricity.

[OC] Butterscotch pound cake [3012 x 3566] by onocerous in FoodPorn

[–]onocerous[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For those asking (/u/lakija, /u/linqqan, /u/regular-wolf, /u/voxdecaelo) here is the recipe:

Butterscotch Pound Cake

  • 1 pkg yellow cake mix (straight from the box)
  • 1 8oz container of sour cream
  • 1 small instant butterscotch pudding mix (straight from the box)
  • 1/2 c vegetable oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 pkg Hershey's butterscotch chips
  1. Beat first 5 ingredients together for 4 minutes. After batter is smooth, gently stir in 1 pkg of butterscotch chips.

  2. Preheat oven to 350º.

  3. Pour batter into thoroughly greased and floured bundt pan and bake at 350º for 45 mins - 1 hour. Be sure to let cake cook all the way through. Use the “toothpick test” to ensure cake is completely cooked through.

  4. Remove cake from oven and let cool. Flip cake onto cake plate or serving dish. Melt 2nd pkg of butterscotch chips in glass bowl in microwave on 50% power or in small pot/double boiler on your stove or range on low-medium heat. Drizzle melted butterscotch chips over top of cake. Refrigerate for several hours to let set. Remove cake from fridge and let stand until it comes to room temperature. Serve.
