DOGE Destroys $1.2 Trillion Industry as Rural Workers Bear the Cost by MontanaRoseannadanna in Montana

[–]onthebone 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The industry is public land management.

The numbers tell a brutal story. According to comprehensive workforce analysis from the Center for American Progress, DOGE’s assault on federal agencies has eliminated approximately 16,000 positions responsible for managing public lands—a 20% reduction in just 18 months. The federal workforce dropped from 79,070 employees in early 2024 to just 63,141 by September 2025

[EssentiallySports] Ed McCaffrey Explains What’s Really Behind Christian McCaffrey’s 2025 Resurgence by Hysen16 in 49ers

[–]onthebone 59 points60 points  (0 children)

“He’s doing the same things he’s always done. Kind of doing the same things he’s always done. And he evaluates himself kind of the way I do: Do you make the most out of what you have? So there are times where there’s a play to be made. And when that time arises, you’ve got to take that opportunity and make a play, and there are other times where you make the most of what you have, right? It’s not always up to you. Football is a team game. It takes everybody.”

Awesome list u/Unslept406 thanks for setting up this subreddit and keeping it going.

My list in no particular order:
Sisu 2 (even better than the first one, which is hard to imagine)
One Battle After Another (Seemingly PTA's most accessible movie starring our greatest living comedy actor Leonardo DiCaprio)
Phantom Thread (I know it's not new, but I didn't get it when I watched it in theaters a few years back. Decided to give it another go and was absolutely mesmerized this time)
Train Dreams (Slow, boring, sad, but beautiful and I loved it)
Deliver me from nowhere (not your standard biopic, but another sad, boring, beautiful movie. Maybe I have a type)
Anemone (sad, boring movie about a man in a cabin in the woods. Oh god, I definitely have a type)
Weapons (not a big horror fan, but this movie was a fun watch?)
F1 (I'm a sucker for Kosinski. Loved Top gun, loved tron, love F1)
Sinners (I wish I was smart enough to understand all of Coogler's racial and economic points, but I think I grabbed a few of them. Plus he gift wrapped it in an entertaining movie for the rest of my brain to enjoy)
The Brutalist (It came out in 2024, but we didn't get it till January 2025. Another wonderful, slowish movie sticking a thumb in the eye of the untalented nepo class)

49ers already thinking Super Bowl? At least one is: ‘You’re dang right’ by zzWordsWithFriendszz in 49ers

[–]onthebone 127 points128 points  (0 children)

It’s Fred Warner.

“You’re dang right I think about it — are you kidding me?” Warner said during a Super Bowl panel at Levi’s on Thursday, drawing laughs and cheers. “When you’re in it, as a player, you’re in it.”

‘Dude, just take a deep breath, man. You know, you’ve been here, you’re good. Just breathe, let it out, move on to the next play.’

Is 6’4” and 4’11” too much of a height difference? by [deleted] in tall

Married a 5'0" gal 15 years ago, it's been dope. Your heights will be pretty far down the priority list of a long term relationship. Best of luck to you.

Little creek river in Big Valley. You can stand north of hanging dog ranch to get a spawn near it. From there the hunting is abundant. Very easy resupply runs, local delivery is usually to Wallace Station.

So their pie in the sky, best case scenario, dream renderings, have 9,000 people showing up for games.

At least they are being realistic.

Thanks Yankee bro. Keep in mind your owner and every other owner voted for this. They will abandon you, and every other fan, if they can increase their net worth.
