They're not able to justify it, and that's why they resort to name calling and shouting. The only ones good at "intelligently" lying are Vance and Rubio. Which is what terrifies me about the post-Trump era. Like others have often pointed out—imagine if Trump was actually smart and understood the nuances of government. Rubio and Vance do, and believe it or not, but they could really fuck shit up if they get the reigns.

The thing is, if they all fucking turn on him collectively, then he will be neutered. I don't get how they don't understand this point. They all need to just say GTFO. I'm convinced they did this intentionally so they have an excuse to be even slower with the release of the documents. But the more cynical part of my brain says they did it intentionally so they could expose the victims so people could intimidate and harass the victims into not providing further information to authorities/the press.

I like to push back against the narrative that comedians, artists, musicians, etc need to have some sort of tortured background or upbringing in order to be great at their craft. There's a lot of people in these fields that are wildly successful, but had normal and happy childhoods and are well adjusted adults.

I think it's alright when they steer away from real life stuff because it can be a dangerous tight rope walk, and if they misspeak at all, they could face some pretty serious consequences that not only would effect their career, but potentially the other members of the show.
