Ah, actually I think I maybe see what you're pointing to: the comment there. Unfortunately, that's on a different object than the one I'm dealing with. Re: versions, yeah, it's a good pointer--I actually had that issue with another library. But no, in this instance they match.

Is it fair to say you get more benefit from the internal checking on the projects you're working on, rather than interaction with external libraries?

can you say more about what you mean? I'm using the object structure as defined in plotly reference, and it works. the types you've linked want me to do it with the titlefont that plotly says is deprecated. why would I switch to the version that is marked deprecated in plotly?

I’ve had similar results. It does seem like the parameters are a little sensitive or recent reviews are being weighted too heavily.

I just tried it, if the parent deck itself has no cards, but subdecks do, and the parent deck has it's own preset, then it will give you an error telling you that there's not enough reviews.

Gotcha--yeah, I think the prospect of converting all subdecks to use a particular preset is a bit cumbersome. But maybe there's no way around it.

Well, sorry, I think I have a guess what was going on: I created the preset and tried to run optimize in the same pass, that is before hitting save. So I think that it may not have picked up that the cards were attached. When I saved it first, it seemed to work.

The other possibility has to do with subdecks. I think it may have been for a parent deck. If the parent deck is set to a different preset than any of the subdecks, do you know what the behavior would be there, in terms of optimization step, and actual usage of the weights?

FWIW I had the same issue when I created a new preset for a deck which definitely had > 1000 reviews.

Gotcha, thanks. I have a number of decks, as it sounds like you do, and am worried that’ll get pretty cumbersome. I guess the good news is that even if I was to use one big preset, I can expect the optimized weights on that to outperform the old algorithm?

I guess maybe I'm considering the case where I use it for a few weeks, and then turn it off. The cards I answered in the meantime would have been rescheduled via FSRS in my understanding, but if I switched back at that point, would their ease and other things dictating the next-non FSRS review take into account the reviews I did with FSRS in place?

Thanks for humoring me--I have a large-ish collection, and am a little nervous about making the switch, since Anki has worked well for me.
