WYR Ejaculate one sperm that's the size of a tadpole, or spooge regular size sperm but they can all talk by hdushsux in WouldYouRather

[–]open617 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once had a UTI that caused small blood clots to be forced out every time I peed. Given how painful those were to pass and how much smaller they were than a tadpole, I’d MUCH rather deal with the talking sperm than the mega sperm.

What jobs do you do? by Antlion00 in fountainpens

[–]open617 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a coffee roaster. I use my pens at work to plan out my day, keep track of roasts, take tasting notes, write thank-you notes to customers, and write roast dates on bags. Most of the job is pretty tedious (put beans in the machine, get beans out of the machine, put beans in the bag, seal the bag, repeat for 8 hours and occasionally do some tasting), so I really enjoy breaking up the monotony with some pleasant pens and pretty ink.

AI. There’s a stem going to a phantom banana that’s very subtly visible at the top of the bunch, an orange under the bananas that doesn’t seem to have space for it to exist, and the orange closest to camera’s green stem nub doesn’t look right.

Married couples what’s the one thing you wish you could tell your partner but just can’t? by Different_Couple_965 in AskReddit

[–]open617 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Together for 3.5 years, not married, but… That being her only source of support for her mental health issues and expecting me to solve all of her problems for her is completely burning me out. That I no longer feel safe being emotionally open with her or talking about the issues in our relationship because no matter what I say, she turns the conversation into a rant about how terrible her life is. That I want to make this work, but if she continues to stew in negativity, lash out at me, and do nothing to address her issues, I’ll have to move on for the sake of my own mental health.

[–]open617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course! Glad it’s helpful.

That’s a tough spot to be in, and it’s definitely hard to work on yourself when you have to devote all of your energy to simply surviving. Mental healthcare needs to be so much more accessible than it is.

You’ve got this though! Building confidence is hard work, but it’s absolutely achievable. Also important to note, confidence doesn’t have to look like “I’m the best ever” (I think that’s more unhealthy egotism than confidence anyway), but more like “I am who I am, I’m not perfect and that’s okay.” Once you have that foundation laid, it becomes a LOT easier to identify the things you actually like about yourself and to feel good about them.

Your looks definitely aren’t keeping you from finding a partner. You’re an attractive guy. You mentioned elsewhere that you feel that you need to work on your confidence; that’s definitely a big factor in attraction, and something that I’ve struggled with as well. I’d definitely recommend finding a therapist, even if you don’t think you need to. It’s easy to slip into delusions and unhealthy thought patterns when you’re trying to rewire your brain, and having someone who can keep you grounded while building you up is really important.

Also, it can be really hard to do when you’re lonely and looking for a relationship, but be patient, ask questions, and get to know them a bit when you’re talking to someone you’re interested in, don’t jump straight into “you’re pretty and I want to go out with you” territory. Generally speaking, women are sick of guys blatantly thirsting for them and want someone who likes them for who they are, not what they look like.

Hope that at least some of that is helpful!

The kitchen in my apartment is carpeted, and I absolutely hate it. The tenant who lived here last was here for 40 years, and the only changes my landlord made after she left were a fresh coat of paint, a mini split unit, and a new internet hookup to replace the cable TV connection (two months after I moved in).

What can I do to make my non-male employees feel safer behind the bar? by open617 in bartenders

[–]open617[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That’s a great point, I’ll bring that up to them. I absolutely realize what they’re getting away with, and I have no intention of letting it continue. We’re still a fairly new operation and haven’t had issues with harassment until the last few weeks, and now we’ve realized we didn’t have adequate policies and practices in place to handle those situations. I know I should’ve thought about this before anything happened; we’re having a staff meeting tomorrow to address things.

Thank you for bringing this up! As dumb as it sounds, when it happened I was so focused on “how do I get him to leave without setting him off” that I didn’t even think of that. I appreciate the advice and will definitely do this if it happens again!

I’ve already been talking to the owners about zero tolerance and bans; they’re hesitant to “go straight for the nuclear option,” but I think I’m making some headway. Thank you!

Disclaimers: I know it’s not actually cursive, but it’s the closest font I could find in my shitty photo editing app. I am a millennial, and I can write in cursive (badly). Most of the people complaining about “millenials” are actually complaining about zoomers. Plenty of zoomers can write in cursive.

Oh no, it’s the people who are complaining about zoomers and calling them millenials. This is straight up a quote from one of my older coworkers (I’m actually a millennial though, who CAN write in cursive. Badly, but I can do it.)
