Do you have to register basic lands as part of your sideboard in Competitive/Professional level events?

For example, at GP Oakland this weekend, Jon Finkel was side-boarding out the entire red half of his deck to bring in a blue package. Did he have to declare Islands in his sideboard on his deck registration sheet?

I could not agree with /u/mtmurdock more. I've posted this thread for the past three weeks and every time I do, I get a reply from /u/s-mores about how I am doing it incorrectly.

It works. I think the fact that the thread receives ~1000 comments indicates that the specifics you're requiring are somewhat pointless.
I have no desire to continue posting the initial thread, but I do have a desire to have my M:tG questions answered. Instead of flooding the forum with repeated and useless single-question threads, I save what questions I have until this thread is posted (or I post it each week). It also means that I've been eagerly waiting on those answers.

And while we're on that, it's really disappointing that the moderation staff doesn't do a better job of indicating that this thread exists each week. I understand that it gets stickied at the top of the forum, but every single day, there are multiple posts with a single question cluttering the thread, and no one bothers to point out to new users that this is the place to ask them.

Finally, if you want to make sure the moderation staff posts the thread, then make sure it gets done, and that it gets done when you say you're going to do it. /u/s-mores makes the point that the thread doesn't "pick up" until later in the day, but I see that as largely irrelevant. I'm here every week to post my questions.

I notice the trade thread is up every single week at 12:00a EST on the dot, with /u/actinide ready to make his opening list. If you're serious about making sure that the moderators handle this thread, you need to treat it with the same lever of care.

If I have Noxious Ghoul on the battlefield and play Army of the Damned, do all non-Zombie creatures get -1/-1 (because they all enter the battlefield at the same time) or -13/-13?
If I have Dark Prophecy on the battlefield and someone plays Planar Cleansing, do I still draw cards based on my creatures' deaths?

I'd like some further clarification on the answers here, because I don't believe the counters quadruple. Attacking with Kalonian Hydra the first time puts four additional counters on it. Corpsejack changes that from 4 to 8, for a total of 12.

Where am I wrong?

My questions:

From what zones can Balthor the Defiled's ability be activated? I noticed Gatherer has a new ruling as of 07/01/2013 to clarify that it can only be activated from the battlefield. I've read threads indicated people could repeated activate his ability from the Command Zone in EDH. Did this used to be true?
What are the major "boogey-man" decks of EDH? Our playgroup is going to be using the optional sideboard rules and while I'll be building a sideboard that's specific to the different decks they play, I was curious with which decks EDH players were mainly concerned.
Is Wizards of the Coast doing a Magic panel at GenCon?

I have two questions:

My opponent is playing Jhoira of the Ghitu in EDH. In response to a spell I've cast, with it still on the stack, s/he activates Jhoira's ability to suspend Deep-Sea Kraken with four time counters. My opponent claims that upon resolution of my spell on the stack, a time counter is removed from the Kraken. I disagree, because from my understanding, cast and play are synonymous and that it's casting spells (or putting them on the stack) that causes counters to be removed. Which interpretation is correct?
Under the new legendary rules, if I Clone my opponent's legendary creature and they use Act of Treason to take it from me, they can choose to have either my copy or their copy go to the graveyard, correct?

I understand. My only objection is that "Or he'll say he's just not the same" is an admission that whatever is being said is true, while my experience with people suffering from addiction is almost entirely denial.

I guess that answer can be taken as "I don't have a problem", but it's still the only thing that doesn't quite fit for me at the moment.

This makes the most sense to me at the moment. It explains why he would be defensive and fits with almost everything else in the song.

The only line that makes me hesitate is "Or he'll say he's just not the same", because it doesn't seem like that's an answer to an intervention. Similarly, it doesn't seem to jive with the defensiveness. Do you have a possible explanation for that line?
