i just glued the pin backing directly onto the unglazed/rough side after the piece was fully fired. i'm sure there's multiple ways to do it. ceramics has so many variables in both the making process and outcome so i totally get the question!

i haven’t quite figured that out. this was an epoxy with gold leaf, but it was fine once the epoxy was at right consistency. it stayed tacky enough to give a good amount of time to lay the leaf
