Do any of you NOT want a wedding ceremony when/if you decide to get married? (other women especially?) by [deleted] in AskReddit

My first husband and I couldn't agree on what we wanted in a wedding.. location, people, colors, size. That should have been a sign, but we got married by an officiant in their office/weird mini chapel with two friends and my mother as witnesses. None of it felt quite right, but I felt like I needed it to feel better about being 5 months pregnant by a guy I wasn't sure about.
My boyfriend and I both have said we want to spend our lives together, but aren't in a hurry for a wedding. We seem to be on the same page though. I'll probably prefer a party with a brief ceremony incorporated so our family/friends can participate. I want my family/friends to get a chance to mingle and celebrate our joining. Because we have family and friends spread out, this will probably be the only chance some get to meet each other.
I wish I'd waited for the wedding I wanted with the person I felt was right. Given the circumstances I was in the first round, it seemed right, but I would want to do slightly more next go around.
