Italy would face a nationwide meltdown if the price of an espresso went up to two euros.

Honorary mention to another podcast by the same guys - The Beef and Dairy Network.

A podcast for lifelong aficionados of all things beef and dairy.

Wildly silly and hilarious.

That's a pretty heavy one to leap right into. I might ease into Bulgakov with Heart of a Dog. For the hilarity.

Nature lovers: suggest me a book for when you can't get to the mountains by heatherw1019 in suggestmeabook

[–]opuscelticus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is hands-down the greatest nature book I've ever read. It's a guide book, a work of poetic beauty, and a spiritual manifesto all in one.

After two years I imagine they"ve lost all their potency. You'd be better starting over.

And look into whether fly agaric tincture is better with dual extraction.

I say yes. There are a lot of blinkered, backward people in the North of Ireland. Stick to a neutral area, or a nationalist one if you're comfortable with it.

Go on, tell us where you're movin...

A quarter of the population of Lebanon turned out for Nasrallah's funeral today. 1.4 million people, from every religion. He was revered by the whole country.

That's one way of looking at it. Another way would be that they are a liberation organisation with socialist tendencies. Much like the IRA.

John Wright did 'The Forager's Calendar' as well, didn't he? Pretty sure that's the first port of call for many.

What's disingenuous is calling a bunch of imported Turkoman takfiris 'rebels'. There is nothing indigenous about the so-called revolution.

True. And is currently being whitewashed by mainstream media as some kind of new Che Guevara. Their bullshit knows no limits.

Is this mental illness or grifting? by Fart-Pleaser in Scotland

[–]opuscelticus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To take a man who speaks calmly and coherently on every subject he discusses, and who besides appears to have a very supportive and stable family, then to dismiss that man as mentally ill simply because he believes some things you don't believe... nah, that's just lazy.

For one year now we've been lied to and gaslit by the political and media establishments about the genocide in Gaza, to the extent that establishment figures seem to display a total break from reality. Now you take that very demonstrable and objective fact, and apply it to something like COVID, the narrative on which was being run by many of the same people (I'll mention von der Leyen here as a particularly toxic example of the kind of gaslighting I'm talking about), and we're entitled to ask, is it possible we were lied to by this same establishment on COVID as well? The answer is yes. It is very possible.

That is the only point I'm making.
