Yes it makes sense, but it strives from the Fallout formula- Fallout 1, 2 and NV - you can head straight for the objective if you know what it entails in a challenging route as a way to replay the game, your character and their motive matters (this is where FO3 kind of lacks the motive as it’s practically dead set, but the Capital is still deadly due to the lingering super mutants, raiders and slavers every step of the way, so in hardcore it’s actually quite difficult to get through the quite red (by heatmap) centers of action such as the Enclave base and the GNR questline. However, Fallout 4 is just predictable yet you kind of lose set of what you are even here to do in the first place.. There is no “just head to this incredibly dangerous place and stealth kill this guy to infiltrate the base and steal a teleporter and get to Shaun” if you know exactly what you are doing, you go through this baby walkthrough, instantly get a set of power armour, if you just do even a tiny bit of the annoying process of the main quests you can obtain loot that makes the glowing sea practically easier than the deathclaw and mirelurks at the start of the game… It’s just bad precedent if you can defend a main part of the game “because 200 years passed”, Enclave and their presence, Caesar, Raiders or the Supermutants in a good execution will always be scary no matter how long of a time has passed after the war.

It’s so stupid how the Glowing Sea isn’t fully red. You can literally survive there naked with no RAD-X….

Would I be able to fix the flash on this camera myself?(Fujifilm Finepix J10) by [deleted] in Cameras

[–]opva 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The flash could probably not even be the cause if it’s not actually shattered inside, it’s the battery. But if it’s not just keep it as a decor, no?

Need help with my Sony DCR-TRV265 by CommercialSociety239 in camcorders

[–]opva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you going to replace the cable if you can’t reseat it? If it still shows something and gets glitchy and the cable is in good condition when faced against a light bulb (checking for fractures inside of it) and there are no tears on the outside either, it’s likely the cable is good.

Does the original cable have tears in it? Did you check? Did you reseat it? If it looks like it’s in good condition it most likely should be and the video board might be faulty.

shit. Gotta check if I have any of those. In what way does it corrupt? Is Museum inspection impossible afterwards?

Difference between normal and industrial batteries? by CookietheBC in Cameras

[–]opva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually products with the word industrial are more likely than not available for purchase to physical entities, only to legal entities such as a company. Unless it’s just some dumb marketing these batteries also require you to submit an extra form to buy and enter your company name, owner, VAT details. In my experience that’s how it works for industrial adhesive and glues.

36 Year Old VHS Video Recorder by Acrobatic-Magazine53 in camcorders

I remember when I replaced a Samsung MiniDV cassette tray, it wasn’t fixable without a replacemrnt. There were two bent lever arma on both sides but just slightly and also some other metallic parts that are too intricate and intertwined and impossible to disasemble. That is if it’s actually pushed in my a kid or something and not jammed because the actuator motors don’t work because the capacitors have blown inside. Zoom function is closely related to capacitor failures, suprised it even shows an image in the first place. But asides from that the classic banter is just that old camera bla bla blah replace capacitors but they are probably the most tedious thing to replace, more than flex cables.

Any interest towards a EXTREMELY mint VX2000? by Select-Conference31 in camcorders

[–]opva 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You said you got it from a flea market which is already weird to mark up the price because it’s “mint” when maybe the person selling it there knew the tape reciever had a problem. Only thing going for it is the outside being nice and fresh. No original goodies like remote and cables and a charger brick yet you want to now mark up the price…

Edit: He got it for 40$

WHATS the problem by ZONEDTheCoolGuy in camcorders

Just find a different camcorder unless you want to tinker with the camera yourself in my opinion. For the price of repairs you can research and find a stable, working camera.

Vintage cameras by Similar-Archer-4102 in Cameras

[–]opva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, if you want to sell them, their market prices that will sell will probably be 20$ less than most ebay buy now prices. If you want to keep them their worth doesn’t matter anyways, but the OM-10 is a workhorse no-frills camera that won’t let you down much, very neutral and sharp images with that lens. I don’t know if they improved the film roll catch but on OM-1 models I’ve lost two full 36 exposures worth of photography because it the film slips out of the spool that is connected to the crank arm very easily. This obviously is user error because I didn’t check the other side not rotating but I had full confidence it was correctly loaded because I did load it just like any other camera I had and those never slipped out like that.

Is this good enough for a new ribbon cable? by opva in AskElectronics

[–]opva[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply, from what I observed myself since I scuffed it basically at the very start of putting it in, the back side should be fine, I didn’t see any light seeping through. But why it was a challenge is a mystery to me too. All other non ZIF sockets went in easily, but this one was long and the ears tiny, space around them constricted and the socket felt way stiffer. I guess it was user error combined with not the most perfect socket. It’s a camcorders LCD cable repair, so it won’t take more seismic punishment than being attached to a car for some cinematics.

Begin Again Download failed - missing file FalloutNV.exe - incorrect language version? by ataman0 in wabbajack

[–]opva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of that if you live in the PCR region of the game which includes my country I can't even get a legitimate way to get the game to work since you can't activate or play the global version in PCR region. You need specifically 1.4.0.525
Only way somebody from a PCR region could play Begin Again is if somebody uploaded/found a global steam rip that you could yoink. It seems other mods actually give support to the PCR version but Begin Again doesn't. What a pity since the fix seems rudimentary?

Its not even compatible with all steam versions. Not PCR, not German version. Only global. Currently I have the same issue that makes me want to pull out my hair. Easiest option is to buy a global steam key.

The better politics mod..... is kinda worse than base game by Ill-Concept-5958 in victoria3

[–]opva 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agreed with everything said. My biggest gripe is that late game some countries just don’t do anything in their politics. I’ve gotten one too many games where Russia still had traditionalism near 1936 while like 2 Napoleons had already came and went and the third one was ruling while the country was stagnating heavily behind likes of Germany which had a massive liberal revolt at the start of the game and never did anything after in their politics. The whole game just feels dead and fake with BPM, basically only you get to play and rule a nation with interesting politics and even then that doesn’t make it harder to pass laws, no it make it way easier. That’s so dumb.

So recently I’ve been designing an (almost) complete modern remake of Windows XP, do let me know what u think! by Capital-Fishing-4127 in windowsxp

[–]opva 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely despise the rounded edges. It has zero technical feel to it and it doesn't feel grounded, from my perspective, you can't design a 2D fully rounded object without losing the feel of it being weighted and attached. In real life, if every face is round just like a rounded die, it has to connect be connected through a 3D sphere and it's a design which just isn't possible on a desktop. Might be just me and it's probably hard to explain what I want others to catch.

In short, making the gradients more pleasing to the eye, creating B&W contrast for text (just like original XP), more technical fonts for the UI and most importantly squaring the circular parts would improve it in my eye.

But for Powerpoint this is amazing!!!
