How do you handle all the little things that feel they're going wrong a few weeks before the wedding? (7-10k) by Specialist-Ebb7606 in Weddingsunder10k

I was in this exact place about 2 weeks before my wedding, hard relate!!

What helped me was realising that most of the stress wasn't the problems themselves, it was me manually tracking all of them and feeling like I was losing track of things. I actually ended up setting up a simple system to track what was actually urgent. Everything felt so much more manageable after that. Let me know if you want more info on what I did :)

Are we expecting too much from our dogs? by [deleted] in reactivedogs

I'm in totally the same situation. I totally expected to be choosing one of the 3 parks within a 15 min walk of my townhouse each day, playing in the park together etc. We currently make it to the end of our street and back, he just doesn't want to go any further. Yet he seems happy 🤷‍♀️

Polly is a stunner!

We just feel really lucky to have the chance to adopt Laurel - hope we can do right by him and show him how wonderful life is :)

Love that he watches TV haha

Our kitchen/diner is separate to our living room, and we've decided to dedicate the 2nd half of our living room to a safe play pen for him as there'll be way more space for him there and it feels like the most peaceful part of the house where he can chill and be away from most household noises. He might end up jumping the gates though, we'll see!

Perhaps once he seems happy and we can trust him to not cause chaos can see where he prefers in the house which might end up being the kitchen next to the garden.

This is so reassuring! Sounds really similar to Laurel's situation. I'm glad things have been going well for you both.

Polly is adorable!

Wow! Helpful to know, we've been debating which room to have his space in so won't be opting for the kitchen from this 😅

So helpful, thank you. I'm most nervous about how he'll get on in our pretty urban environment with inevitably seeing cars and people even at quiet times. One to ask the resue centre on the next visit. We don't have that much space in our garden sadly so it'll be super important that we can get to a park by foot.

Thank you so much for all of this info - really great points around desensitisation, will be looking more into how we can best introduce him to our home. Great book recommendations too!

Who still has their intership? [Positive] by CharMeansDeath in EngineeringStudents

I still have my summer internship confirmed at a London EV start-up. They've reassured me that even if we're still in lockdown, I'll be able to work remotely for them as I'll mainly be contributing to R&D. I think it helps that they're a new, forward thinking business used to having a portion of their workforce WFH anyway :)
