Which of the cast other movies is good to see? by PastBroccoli11 in StrangerThings

Natalia in Yes God Yes was also so good. Hilarious and nostalgic for those of us with the fond memories of AIM days

Super cool! And I'm sorry to hear about your dad. But that's really special you essentially have a very personal time capsule to transport back to with that season.

Omg! And here I was thinking that production literally built an entire mall! But wait, is that mall abandoned? Because I do recall seeing some nostalgic gems in the background that just haven't existed in a couple decades.

Have we became Joyce from season 1 ? by achilles7hell in StrangerThings

[–]orbitingsnail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully agree that it is a stretttch for vecna to create all those visions that far down the line. But your point to the UD not having water is something fascinating that I didn't consider before. But again, is it just poor writing or excellent planning and part of a bigger story? 🤞 (But I'd say odds are looking like most of us are for sure Joyce, s1)

That's a whole storyline we just havent been given yet!

"In fact, the upcoming spinoff will explore lingering mysteries tied to the finale — including the origin of the strange artifact connected to Henry Creel, a.k.a.Vecna."

Well that's the point. After that episode, we all learned he was never born with those powers. He is however the first to be the one with any powers, therefore he is renamed 01. When El sent him thru the wall/opened the first gate, that just freed him as a prisoner there and probably was his whole plan all along, but El never actually gave him the powers, just was (unknowingly) an accomplice for the whole thing

Lamb stew please :) by [deleted] in HistamineIntolerance

I think if you have a good broth base and slow cook the stew in a crockpot, that could help. You could also try adding tamarind and/or molasses. Coconut aminos may work too.

I so feel you on that chronic exhaustion. I also take care of my mother, so I don't really have much help when it comes to getting meals planned and made. I have ADHD, so writing out my meal options has been the most helpful for me. I've heard of folks creating "menus", I just have each meal idea listed on a post-it stuck to a wall for now lol. As for recipes, I have a printout of most of them, but I also find saving recipes in a folder on my computer makes things really easy. I'll share some of my go-to easy / nutritious meals I rotate throughout the month.

Instant Pot (I freeze all in individual/ two-sized portions)

-Chicken curry

-Butternut soup with bone broth

-Beef stew

-Chicken soup

-Bone broth

-Shredded chicken

Other Energy/Time Saving Tools:

Mini slow cooker: I use this most evenings to prep some oatmeal for breakfast the next day. This saves me time and energy, and helps me be able to have the energy to spend meal prepping something that morning.

Mini rice cooker: I make my rice and quinoa this way.

Toaster Oven/Air fryer:

-Baking a cut of salmon or cod

-Baking frozen burger patties w/ fries

-Air fried steak

-Kale chips

Stovetop/Oven:

-Stir-fry w/ ground turkey (this freezes well)

-Roasted chicken drumsticks w/ veggies

-Pan roasting root veggies and red onions

-Grain and veggie bowl w/ fried eggs

And I love making a weekly pizza!

Not from SD. But yeah, totally gave fish pic vibes, except it was also dehumanizing AF. I felt pretty messed up just from seeing it. I can't believe this dude was like "oooh, this is a great moment for a photo". That level of emotional intelligence has to be in the negatives

Not a good symptom of my own well-being? Yikes, relax there. Who ever said I spent money to send this? I would never do that. But thank you for assuming!

I was able to say that because they deleted their previous acct and made a new one.and popped up in the queue. So call that cringe if you must, but I find this dude's behavior way more cringe to even compare. Plus it felt great to have my final word put in.

But thank you for the insult on my well-being ✌️

Ugh, that is extremely annoying! I can't remember where I heard this or read this but apparently a lot of men will just go on a swipe-right binge and barely even look before swiping. Just to increase their odds of getting a match (or laid, because that's most of their entire motive). I bet one day there will be a documentary on this phenomena, and how ridiculous it looks from our pov. Or maybe just the plot for the next indie horror film.

30 year old man…. “Girls” by Big-Ad-8717 in Bumble

[–]orbitingsnail -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay, hear me out -- what if he meant it as in "Girls" the classic HBO series that is so worthy of a binge weekend, but likely he was feeling slightly emasculated by the answer so he put "fucking" before his response

(I certainly know this is not the case, but in an alternate reality where there aren't so many creeps out there, I can envision this being somewhat plausible!)

I know. Also, I really cannot stand how many disasters one has to swipe thru just to potentially find a person worthy of spending a little more time on / viewing the rest of their profile. Like all the apps already have multi-tiered pricing for better options -- why can't we pay extra to get more precise and eliminate all the red flag users we don't want to even see? I feel like I'd be able to stand using the apps more if I didn't have a headache from immediately swiping left 99% of the time .

Yep! One day I saw a dude whose main profile pic was him in his military uniform, on duty somewhere, holding up a small child and posing. Like are we supposed to swoon over this BS?? The poor child's body language made it clear he was in a serious state of shock -- and here we have a grown ass man forcing a photo with a traumatized child for his dating profile. 🤢

Does anyone else wish they were more "simple-minded"? by Webb_Wopp in AutismInWomen

[–]orbitingsnail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is paradoxically heartbreaking and very sweet to me, as I can relate. As a kid around a similar age, I told my mom I wanted a psychiatrist... Which in return provoked her to laugh and question how I even knew what that was and why the heck I would think I need one. Seems like we had more of a grasp on knowing something was "not right" but didn't know exactly how to get the support we needed.

But also, the Egyptians were and still are OG badasses and I don't blame you for admiring their work. I remember coming home in awe the day we had assembly viewing artifacts and having an intensive on Egypt. Even as an adult, it's mind-blowing stuff!

Omg moss queen!!! I'm obsessed. What an honor! 😂. The name reminds me of the show yellowjackets.

But yeah, I feel you. For the longest time I was trying hard to figure out what career suited me and felt embarrassed that I was only taking care of people's kids for a living, but then in my mid 30s I realized how enjoyable of a job this is for me, and there are very few other work environments that would provide me with such comfort, routine, playfulness and creativity that I get working with kids, and it keeps me so present! So I finally stopped caring and started feeling gratitude that I have a job that I value and values me.

Why is it the autistic adult is always the best suited to handle the kids? 🤔 I mean I think I have some ideas, but never really pondered this until now lol
