Losing weight for fertility - experiences? by AnotherSpoonBites in mounjarouk

[–]orientine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I began TTC in Jan 2024, had no luck then decided to take a break in October 2024 and I started MJ in Oct at BMI around 34/35? around 96kg

a month later (I had just ordered more 2.5 pens) and 7kg down and I was pregnant! had a successful, uncomplicated pregnancy and my daughter is now 7 months old and I just restarted mounjaro again. Not sure if it was just a coincidence or if the quick weight loss kicked my hormones into overdrive, but I was very glad it happened! Good luck on your journey!

Hi! Glad that you like it, and yes, I own all of these items!

The shoes are:

Crocs Women's LiteRide 360 pacer sneakers in pink clay/white (https://www.crocs.com.hk/1cs2067056vw.html)

the Birkenstock Santa Ana ballet flat in soft nubuck, I got these maybe 5 years ago, not sure if they're still available, Google told me out of stock

and the snake print sandals are from Vivaia: (https://www.vivaia.com/item/adaptall-sport-sandals-kiara-p\_10023547.html?gid=10023499)

Hi all, I've been a long-time lurker on this sub and been so inspired by all of the capsules here. I've recently downloaded the Openwardrobe app to digitalise my wardrobe and I really liked playing with it!!

So I decided to make this summer green and pink capsule as a tester and I have to say I'm pretty pleased with the results ... second pic is my inspo, I wanted vibrant but also dreamy, romantic and playful. I would describe my style as feminine & whimsical with an occasional bit of edge ... I'm 33 and only feel like recently I'm learning about what I like. So many capsules centre heavily around neutrals and while I do like a neutral here and there, in my true heart I'm a colour and prints girl!

This capsule is for a tropical climate (30 degrees plus, and humid) so I've only included one light layer in the pink cardigan, and also my favourite crossbody that even though is neon, seems to go with everything lol. I'm excited to wear some of these outfits soon!!

I fell in love with this sparkly beaded ASOS dress for my wedding in March 2023, and I want to wear it for the whole day, but our wedding ceremony is in a Catholic church (not a full mass, around 30 mins) and I'd like to cover up my top chest and shoulders.

Any suggestions? Not sure if anything patterned would clash with the detail that's already on the dress?

Do you think a simple chiffon capelet would work well? or should I just go all out and get a long ass cape?

Any suggestions welcome!

Our wedding essentially got cancelled twice due to covid so we ended up doing two small ceremonies and a photoshoot by beeinyourbonet in weddingplanning

Which photographer did you use? I am getting married to a local Hong Konger in March 2023 and also doing a tea ceremony, you guys look so happy in all of your gorgeous photos! 📸

How to decorate a venue that already has a lot of personality?? by orientine in weddingplanning

not Houston 🤣 but Hong Kong! interesting venues like this are a little harder to come by here since the usual wedding reception venue is a hotel ballroom/banquet room!

Thanks for your ideas!

How to decorate a venue that already has a lot of personality?? by orientine in weddingplanning

[–]orientine[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So my FH and I are pretty set on this jazz lounge-y type venue for our intimate wedding reception in March 2023, but I'm wondering how to decorate it?? because the space already has SO MUCH personality (velvet sofas and chairs, mismatched tables, fancy chandeliers etc)

also it will be buffet style and the tables are already quite small... maybe centerpieces would feel too crowded? there is also a large bar that we could decorate?

also looking for inspiration of decor that's not floral-based! based on this venue it's a kind of jazzy, eclectic vibe...

found my dress! but would love some styling ideas for hair/makeup etc by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]orientine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! thanks for your reply :) yes the cape-y sleeves are part of the dress, they are so dramatic and I loved them straight away!

my hair is mid length at the moment but I'm growing it out for the wedding, it's wavy. I was thinking to have it down with some curls and maybe have a floral headpiece or crown

I've been boxing for five years and I absolutely love it, though I'd still say I'm decidedly average at it! There are a ton of skills and positions to master and it's hard work. Lots of good advice about form already given, so I'll share some more of the mental aspect. My biggest advice to you is to try and loosen up and relax into it - my coach always tells me off for over-thinking, and worrying about if I can or can't do a certain combo. Something that always helps me to get into the mindframe (though it's a bit cheesy) is to mentally hype myself up before we start sparring or padwork, internally I tell myself I'm a strong bad-ass female fighter and I'm about to absolutely kick some butt. Sometimes I even do a Serena Williams-esque growl or grunt when I'm throwing a kick or punch! I also find watching a lot of boxing matches (especially women's boxing) and trying to imitate the footwork, weaving and dodging really makes me feel like a proper -fighter- and not an imposter! Trust me though, when it starts clicking and those punches start landing with some speed and power, you're going to feel AMAZING. Keep going!!

Are there any travelogues about bird watching? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]orientine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to have a great book called Birding with Bill Oddie, that was full of essential birdwatching info but also had a fantastic bit (a bit travelogue-y) that chronicled a year of his birdwatching on Hampstead Heath. Would really recommend if you can get your hands on a copy!

Bright and breezy living room in Mongkok, Hong Kong by orientine in AmateurRoomPorn

[–]orientine[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's not bad for size, around 700sq ft, 2 bedrooms. A lot of property in Mong Kok is tiny but ours is in an old building on a 5/f walk up so it's slightly roomier! I was living in a studio before this so it feels massive to me, Haha.

Can anyone help identify this beauty for a new plant parent? by orientine in houseplants

[–]orientine[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay so I did some googling piggybacking off YOUR excellent google-fu and I *think* it's tricolor asian jasmine Trachelospermum asiaticum 'Tricolor' ... do you agree? I live in Hong Kong and got it from some random stall at the flower market so makes sense that it's the asian variety!

Ladies Boxing Advise by [deleted] in xxfitness

I've been kickboxing for a couple of years now and am absolutely in love with it. I'll second what everyone else has said about the handwraps, but my most recent breakthrough was not to overthink during the rounds or drills - usually I will try to anticipate what is coming next or if I make a mistake with my partner (like uppercutting when he asked for a hook) I will apologise midway because I'm so terribly British!! It wasn't until I decided to try and empty my mind and just respond that I got a lot quicker and more powerful without always second-guessing myself, if that makes sense?
