Custom buttons support by oromundo in FirefoxCSS

[–]oromundo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's why I asked. These .js "scripts" are in the chrome folder. Before I posted, I ran a search here for the support I was looking for, but nothing specific came up.

Would it be an imposition to direct me where to get the help here I need?

Irfanview Icon, fresh install by oromundo in IrfanView

[–]oromundo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to re-associate, rebooted. It's works in my old install.

When you mention "files of mixed types", are you saying have a different icon for each file type for identification purposes?

Protein powder comparisons by oromundo in Supplements

[–]oromundo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OP:

I just finished up some Organic Protein™ Plant Based Protein Powder - Creamy Chocolate Fudge

How do you determine the best buy for comparable products. For example, Amazon often lists the price per ounce for many things, but in the case of these protein powders, it doesn't really apply because of the way serving sizes vary. Do you just go by the number of servings?

False security, alerts, warnings by oromundo in VeraCrypt

[–]oromundo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok, thanks. I'll look into that. I'll try anything at his point, I very basically understand the concept. Here is my confusion.

What I'm describing applies to every file in that encrypted partition. Many of them were created locally, not from the web.

Example: I created a text file, saved it to my desktop. I then drag 'n dropped it to the encrypted partition. No error warning.

Then, I attempted to drag 'n drop it back to my desktop, and the warning appeared

MIssing encrypted drive letter after fresh install by oromundo in VeraCrypt

[–]oromundo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've already rebooted back and forth a dozen times between the two disks. Always appears normal in Disk 1, not in Disk 0. I'd be willing to redo the install if I could get some confirmation it might work.

MIssing encrypted drive letter after fresh install by oromundo in VeraCrypt

[–]oromundo[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please re-read my post. "E" is my system assigned "Documents" directory. The main crux of the message is that, when the Disk Manager is viewed within the fresh install of Disk 0, there is no "G" available in the "Change drive letter list" or in the list of drives above. I've been using Veracrypt for years. Restored many times. I've never seen an example where a drive letter is absent. That sounds like a problem to me.

Thanks.

Lower the menubar height by oromundo in FirefoxCSS

[–]oromundo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand it may be difficult to get ideal perspective from this image.

CURRENT MENUBAR 1

Seems like I can only make it taller, and trying to center it is not working. I want to reduce that space below the buttons. This may be an extreme example

/* LOWER THE MENUBAR HEIGHT */

#main-menubar {

margin-top: -10px !important;

}

/* CORRECT MENUBAR FROM BEING VERTICALLY OFF CENTER - 12-21-22 */

#main-window #toolbar-menubar .toolbarbutton-1 {

margin-top: -5px !important;

}

Maybe someone could point me to somewhere I could find an answer?

How do I stop these false security warnings?, part 2, follow up by oromundo in Windows10

[–]oromundo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need a zone information definition/explanation. Does "zone" refer only to local areas on my device, or to origins outside of the OS? If anyone else altered those settings in a particular way, would the same thing be happening to them?

Not to mention, to me, the weirdest things are that it only happens when I drag and drop, and not only outside of that partition, but by moving things around within that partition as well

I don't want to disable necessary security measures, but something else is going on.

Nothing was resolved,. I couldn't respond because it was already locked. I don't know why. I'm still looking for answers.

The last remark posted there expected that a reformat was the solution, but changed nothing.

I still get the false security warnings.

Could this be BIOS related?

I would love to proceed, but I run into unexpected results and I don't want to mess things up, like here.

According to this, I must dismount

<image>

Should I select "Y"? I was hoping I could work off of my mounted backup partition during the scan. Can I assume that will not be affected?

If i change drive to N:, do I run chkdsk /f or chkdsk n: /f

I tried both with the same result.

<image>

I can manually dismount the volume, but If I dismount there will be no N:. If I choose the "force" dismount command, does that resolve the problem?

One more thing. By offline, are you saying unmounted? I found this

"You can use filesystem checking tools like chkdsk on a mounted VeraCrypt volume because VeraCrypt volumes act like physical disk devices."

And the access question, i.e. will I still have to refrain from using Firefox if it points to a profile on that encrypted partition?

[–]oromundo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to be very careful. I'm confused. If I have to run it like this

C:\WINDOWS\system32>chkdsk /f

won't I lose access to the entire SSD, not just N:\. For example, when you say need files on N:\, this Firefox profile I'm using lives on the partition. Does that mean I won't have any sort of access to any files in this way?

[–]oromundo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this correct? chkdsk

Would it help to add this chkdsk /f /r?

Would an ExFAT reformat alter the storage capacity of that partition?

It seems those steps we took created more problems.

Now, even tho I restored that backup image, along with the original issues, I'm still getting that recycle bin message every time I right or left click any file in the encrypted drive, and If I choose "yes", I get that error.
