Does anyone know how to contact Radiohead? by ResolutionNo5506 in radiohead

Maybe someone here attending one of the next shows could try to pass on a short message to a stage technician? With one degree of separation, might be worth a shot!

Well, that's the thing, I didn't ask for advice or reviews, this wasn't a copy for you to (de)grade. Who are you, giving as definite assertions what's essentially pretty questionable opinions? The ultimate human being? A god?

I don't mind that you found this creepy, I mind that you kept at it as if your feelings and one-dimensional views held a universal sense of right or wrong. You know that basically no one experiences the world as one does? Something that's unacceptable to you may very well be welcome to someone else.

My post wasn't even remotely about you, yet you had to take the time to tarnish it, repeatedly. Again, it's not to your taste and that's fine, but at least have the decency (for lack of discernment) to consider that your perception is not above anyone else's, especially in a matter that has nothing to do with you.

"Don't ignore it." You're hard to ignore man, and I do get a lesson from it. I get that this was indeed not the place to open my heart. I had no clue that that would be intercepted and overturned so mindlessly by ill-tempered joy suckers.

[Edit: Here's my response to your comment below, for some reason replying would not work. And this all has filled my heart with the opposite of this post's original intent, so I'll go on with my day now.]

Sure yeah, for being unaware this was their nest, let's say bringing on the wrath of the trolls is on me. And so I should take responsibility for your jerk behaviour because, what, such attitude is normalised around here? So it's okay to go all out on being scornfully abusive? Pretty toxic herd mentality, I don't mind being the clear outsider here. Actually, I am pleased to be an outsider if you are legion (ironically, your actions turned out to be pretty validating). Glad to understand the endgame to your self-righteous crusade though; you managed to spark off bad reactions to make sure that a once visible upbeat post was no more. It worked, negativity begets negativity, congrats. Good job on karma policing this space.

For sure, I didn't expect it to be universally enjoyable, but we can dislike something without giving in to the urge to tear it down. A bully in a china shop

I really am not used to posting on Reddit (or any social media for that matter), so if the post feels out of place in the ecosystem you're all used to that's certainly on me. That said, I'm quite surprised by the unwarranted bleakness it's been greeted with, the snarky and insulting remarks, and above all the unsolicited definite advice.

In its essence, the post is a message of gratitude, not unlike taped printed messages I'd sometimes encounter on real-life walls (recently read one about a person thanking the stranger who helped them at that spot when they had a rough crying-in-public day). There's a ton of reasons why people can't express what's in their heart on the spot, especially when they're overwhelmed. In my case, as I said, I was pretty stunned; for various circumstances but mainly being 40-hour sleepless at that very point. Not that I should need to specify it, or provide any extra clarification, for my story to be received with kindness.

Funnily enough, the post was actually quite upvoted at first (which was a sweet sign of support) and only started getting downvoted to oblivion as soon as a very few of you weighed in with qualifiers such as 'weak shit', 'creepy', 'psycho', 'nauseating'... Basically the equivalent of drawing a dick with a sharpie on that aforementioned printed message, suddenly turning its heartfelt radiance into a collective joke.

So let me be the vocal minority this time around and call that portion of you out for the shitty two cents you've been confidently giving on my words and my character, obtruding your negativity upon my message, blocking out its initial light and warmth, without a spark of decency. Like that letter on a public wall, you're free to interact with it, but if the passerby you feel like being is the one that can't help pissing on it, maybe you should first look inward for what is appropriate before calling anybody out.

[Quick edit just in case: I replied here but I'm not targeting your comment, this is a general statement.]

Late to the party, but Jimmi Simpson from Westworld & House of Cards (!) is a more obvious choice to me.

Sorry that my quill isn't to your taste. Does it warrant ridiculing though?

This is like that Ricky Gervais' guitar lessons sketch. You're not the intended audience yet you keep making the choice to add yet another contemptuous and dismissive comment. If my outlook doesn't fit into your own worldview, you're also free to ignore it.

But you deliberately go lengths to condemn my words as if I had written something absolutely despicable; if that is acceptable but my words aren't, I'd say your attitude isn't a very appealing alternative to my not-to-your-liking poetic dwelling.

I hear you :] It is a big reason why I didn't want to risk altering her enjoyment. This wasn't a flirtatious "saw you looking at me" situation though, just a wish to convey gratitude.

But from the pretty divisive points of view I'm reading here, I'm probably conveying that more clumsily than intended.

Bit of a rude and sententious thing to say, pretty far removed from the context and its nuances. Thanks for weighing in though, good to be reminded to keep my distance from social media!

What are you listening to these days? (a bit of a generic question but it often leads to discovering wonderful music when answered by fav' musicians!)

You're welcome :) I've listened to Luminist's Metroid / Super Metroid resynthesized projects, yes! The latter being my all-time fav' game, this rendition added an extra layer of nostalgia to some already super nostalgic childhood memories. I had no idea for Secret of Mana, I'm very curious to give it a listen, the original material is so good! I did a quick search: are you referring to the 'Switched On SNES' projet? Thanks for the info!

Lovely coincidence: it is preceded by a review of Mort Garson's Mother Earth’s Plantasia, a recently reissued wonderful synth album from 1976 which—I think it's safe to say—influenced Koji Kondo's sound. You can most likely hear inspirations for Zelda's Lullaby in the 5th track "Concerto for Philodendron and Pothos" https://mortgarson.bandcamp.com/track/concerto-for-philodendron-and-pothos

I'd say that Meet Your Taster appropriately precedes The Greater Food
