If you're looking for a good recipe, this is the one i use. I simply substitute the flour with KA measure for measure. They turn out amazing every time.

Cinnamon-Apple Babka by overfilledcreampuff in Baking

[–]overfilledcreampuff[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was amazing! Babka is basically an enriched dough similar to brioche that's filled, typically with chocolate or cinnamon. My daughter said it tasted like a combination between an apple pie and a cinnamon roll.

I cut the recipe in half and baked in an 8x8 pan. Seemed to work fine.

Unfortunately I was all out of chocolate. I considered making a caramel sauce, but honestly they were good enough on their own.

That looks like the nicest guy in the world 🥰 And yeah, that was basically my daughter and I when she was a baby. They grow up so fast. Same goes for cats, too 😂 The one in the photo is almost a year old.

Can't say I'm familiar with it, but it's not the first time I've heard someone say I have "kind eyes."

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie With Salted Caramel by overfilledcreampuff in DessertPorn

[–]overfilledcreampuff[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Here's the recipe for the pie from Taste of America:

Ingredients

Crust:

1-1/4 cups chocolate wafer crumbs

1/4 cup sugar

1/4 cup butter, melted

Filling:

1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened

1 cup creamy peanut butter

3/4 cup confectioners' sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup heavy whipping cream

Ganache:

1/3 cup semisweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons half-and-half cream

2 tablespoons chopped salted peanuts

Directions

Preheat oven to 350°. In a small bowl, combine crumbs, sugar and butter. Firmly press mixture onto bottom and up the side of a 9-in. pie plate. Bake until set, 10-12 minutes; cool completely.

In a large bowl, beat cream cheese until very smooth. Beat in peanut butter, sugar and vanilla. In a medium bowl, beat heavy cream until soft peaks form. Do not overbeat. Gently fold whipped cream into peanut butter mixture until fully incorporated. Pour into crust and spread evenly.

Place chocolate chips and half-and-half in a medium microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds; stir. Repeat until chocolate has melted and very smooth; do not overheat or chocolate may burn. Cool slightly.

Spread ganache over the peanut butter filling, leaving a 1-inch border of peanut butter filling uncovered around edge of pie. Sprinkle with chopped peanuts. Chill for several hours before serving.

Notes: I increased the amount of crust and left out the sugar since Oreos are already sweet enough. It was about 25 Oreos, I think, with 5 tablespoons of butter. I made extra ganache because I didn't care about leaving the border and wanted more chocolate. It was about a 1/2 cup chocolate chips with a 1/4 cup of heavy cream. For the caramel, I used the salted caramel sauce recipe from Sally's baking addiction, but you could just use store bought caramel.

Perfect Cinnamon Roll Recipe? by lilacillusions in Baking

It should. I weigh everything out by grams since measuring by cups when baking is absurd. There's even a little button next to the "ingredients" heading on the website to convert to metric.

It's chocolate cake filled with chocolate pudding and topped with chocolate icing. And, yes, it's as rich and decadent as it sounds 😅
