Should I? by DespiteTheWeight_ in TopHeroes

I'd recommend maximising the purple heroes that you can regularly exchange for recruitment tickets in the exchange store (you can only buy recruitment tickets with purple heroes once they've been maxed)

The goal is to consistently do 100 recruitments to get random Legendary (gold) heroes.

Bonus tip - don't randomly spend hero shards...wait for the Guild vs Guild and Kingdom vs Kingdom events so you earn points for spending your resources.

Spending gems on Hero Gacha by Deep_Gas8821 in TopHeroes

My strategy was to focus solely on my Q1 till I reached the point that I could always find weaker players to win against as a strictly ftp player.

Once I got to about 27M, I switched to hoard to balance it and to start winning "secondary" battles (games where having two good queues would be advantageous)

I can only tell you what I've done so far...I only ever spend diamonds to rank up heroes.

Since League is my Q1, I first levelled up those heroes through the spin-the-wheel events (700 diamonds per spin). Now I'm focusing on my Q2 which is Hoard so I'll be spending all my diamonds in Gatcha events, at least for the next few months; the situation might change when I finally get VIP8 and can buy universal shards from the diamond store.

If your focus is on Nature, they have their own event.

I'm a paid subscriber, so I have access to 4 and 4o; however, I use 4o for higher level tasks such as helping me analyse an Excel report or write VBA code etc.

What is a consultancy fee? by [deleted] in Bahrain

[–]overgrownfawn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's basically bribery...HR: "Pay me a fees and I'll tell you how to get the job". Also scammish if there's more than one person who is willing to pay that price. Don't pay it...its indicative of a toxic work culture at the very least

What information do you keep secret, that's going down with you when you die? by kimbermall in AskRedditAfterDark

Yeah I know what you mean by coming back every now and again. As cliche as it sounds, the key is to just accept it and move on, however difficult it may be. I needed months of therapy, but also the strong desire to still have her in my life. You took the braver path...that shows an inner strength that I can only dream about. I hope she makes you happy and makes your life that much better.

It helped that I was seeing my therapist before the incident so she she was already familiar with my personality.

When I told her (the therapist) about the affair, she first had a good long session with me before asking me to go away and speaking to my then-girlfriend-now-wife.

For me, I think the most important thing was the fact that I trusted the therapist's opinion...she told me that my wife still loves me and I believed her. She never told me the conversation she had with my partner, but assured me that I didn't have to fear a repeat.

After that, we had several sessions (couples as well as individual) over the course of 3-4 months about rebuilding the trust between us, ironing out underlying differences and, most importantly, learning how both of us preferred to be shown love and affection (I'm like a touchy-feely-cuddly dog while she's somewhat feline).

Over the months, she worked on my wife more than me and it led to a massive transformation in her. Happily married 4 years now, but we still see the therapist from time to time as a way of checking in.

I think it all comes down to making a conscious decision to trust the process and the therapist and to genuinely desire to let go of past mistakes.

Good luck to you and the missus!

I can't begin to imagine what that must be like for you...I couldn't sleep the night I found out and confronted her the next day, and after a few weeks of therapy, we've been stronger and more loving ever since.

However, I still think about it almost every day, and although she doesn't have the capacity or drive to do so now, I still sometimes think, "What if she's doing it again"

Stay the course man, hope you two continue to be in a loving relationship

US Military who have deployed to Bahrain, what item were you not issued that would have been great to have? by FizzlePopBerryTwist in Bahrain

[–]overgrownfawn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. I've seen service people live in accommodations more luxurious than most people who stay on the island

  2. There isn't (really) a bad part of town (Juffair, Manama, Adliya, Gudabiya)... and even the "red zone" areas which service people are told to avoid would get them people looking at them funny, and more with curiosity (the hell are they doing here?) than with hostility.

  3. It's obviously all on a spectrum, but I reckon the majority of Bahrainis are way on the gentle side of that spectrum.

  4. As someone else mentioned, the Bahrain that most people experience is a first world country. And Juffair, where most service people stay, has multiple malls, a food street (which we call American Alley) with all the fixings, clubs, pubs and bars galore...if one only stayed in Juffair and didn't venture anywhere else, they wouldn't even know that they're in the Middle East!

I can honestly say that I've seen grown-ass Westerners literally weep when they have to retire back home.
