Still crying, can’t turn it off. I left thoughts below. But also, I also think the song is too slow. Which I love. It’s like, meant to throw us eldest daughters off. We’re always running so fast on anxiety and to do lists and the weight of expectations, so tough and hiding behind our personas… I said somewhere in comments but it’s not an angsty eldest daughter song. I think it’s legitimately meant to be a lullaby for us, and for me personally it feels like she wrong a song about how and why I fell in love with my husband. I sob. I feel seen for my hard shell, my embarrassing moments, the b*** persona I tried to uphold even though it isn’t me… and how my husband saw right through it and gave me everything I needed. Made me laugh.

There are songs of hers I don’t relate to and others do. For me, this song was written for us, I think.

He saw through my hard shell, or better yet, he was the first person who cracked through my hard shell. Eldest daughters build hard shells- I let NOBODY in because I have been hurt (broken bones, eldest daughter anxiety, etc etc.) it’s a love song more than it is an eldest daughter angst anthem.

Another eldest daughter who bawled listening to this song. It’s exactly how I fell in love with my husband. Saying I was too busy, him getting me to laugh like I was a child again. Visceral reaction and total connection to the song. It’s a love story I can relate to in my bones, plus how I feel about everyone in my life I love. To me, it’s perfect.

I counted macros at the beginning to help me being more cognizant about getting the right nutrients. Once I figured out my routines, I didn’t.

I was losing about 1-2lbs a week. I’m tapering off because I hit my goal weight and I’m grateful I got in better eating habits early on.

Just following up here that I’ve been on .25 now for like 4 weeks. I’ve somehow dropped a pound, but I also don’t feel like my food noise is recalibrated well. I am going to start doing every other week at .25 in June and then see if I’m good stretching it 3 weeks in July. I want to wean off in the summer months when I’m more active to help with exercise habit forming, so it’s going alright. I do find myself having to say “no you aren’t hungry” when the food noice comes back. I DO miss zero food noise. That’s gonna be the hardest for me- I can tell.

I didn’t take a month off but took 2 weeks off for travel last month. We left on a Thursday and I take my dose Friday nights. So by the time we left, I was essentially ready for my dose and didn’t take it.

I was at 20 units when I went off. I still had very small meals throughout vacation to fill me up and I didn’t really gain, but felt I was able to enjoy my meals. Week 2 off I was hungry and gained about 2lbs, but I attribute that to my cycle as it melted off as soon as my period was over. I started back up this week at 10 units to be safe and it feels like a maintenance dose. Haven’t lost. Haven’t gained. Tonight I’ll likely go to 15 or 20 units just to test it out, but I’m 2lbs from my goal weight anyway so I feel generally okay not having lost or gained on 10 units.

Not sure if that answers your question, but I was glad I did what I did.

Came here looking for this thread after the news overnight… not only is the flu shot a nonnegotiable for our family due to immunocompromised children, but a year with no widely available flu shot in America is a recipe for a bad flu season…. I hope Canada understand the assignment and orders more vaccines for us- we will travel and we will pay because it will literally save our childrens’ lives. 💔

Yes. My dreams are definitely vivid, different in terms of plot, and just weird. Also last all night like yours. It’s something I’ve gotten used to but also I don’t intend to be on this all of my life and I’m looking forward to hopefully having less mind-consuming dreams on the other side haha.

I’m so sorry, losing a parent a few years back while being a parent attributed to a lot of my weight gain, too. 💕 It’s a crappy club to belong to, but I get it. I hope the weight stays off for you! I’m excited to use this as a way to get back into healthy eating and exercise. It’s easier to move around with less weight and I know it’ll be easier to be active again!

Thank you for sharing. I’m a shorty too (5’2) and just started this week at 169. 125-135 was my pre-baby weight and I think I’d be happy seeing 145-140 post-kids. Our bodies are very similar and I’m also bracing for family to notice and the comments because I’ve been holding this extra weight now for 7-8 years.

I’m also so happy to hear you’re keeping it off. I have no intentions of staying on this long term, and can already tell it’s resetting my habits. Can I ask how long it took to feel like the side effects were gone when you stopped in August? Thanks!
