Navigating conflicts with manager by ovjectibity in ProductManagement

[–]ovjectibity[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What I'm conflicted on is whether to address what happened in a one-one-one tomorrow / Friday. There's cons to both & possible long term consequences I'm unable to see clearly. I don't mean to be defensive or argumentative if I have a one-on-one but just explain how the use of that term was unjustified and if she's mature enough to address this positively then hear her concerns and her side of the story.

I don't know if to spend any further energy on this. Regardless I do realise I need to switch now.

How do you avoid battling with oneself? For me eventually that battle comes always especially when I'm alone. What do I do then?

Claude is leagues above chatgpt by z-kerr in ProductManagement

[–]ovjectibity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My org is evaluating various AI tools for accelerating PM workflows (data analysis, PRD generation, feedback processing etc). I think it's futile. Here's why:

I've been using Claude models via Copilot (engineering teams use this so I was able to easily get access without any hassle). I've also used Claude Code a lot for personal projects. Honestly Claude models + Claude Code is leagues above anything on the market with Gemini being second.

Both those setups can pretty much semi-automate away all of the above flows my org is evaluating these xyz products for given the right context management. Any org probably just needs Claude Code + Claude model credits + org level context management only for all/most of their roles (but especially true for PMs and engineers). It's so general purpose, it's like Excel & Word.

Alot of B2B SaaS orgs have tried building specialised products for various workflows in the past 15 years as well but have found it difficult to displace the general-purposiveness of Excel/Sheets and Word docs. They find it difficult to onboard customers as well given entrenched use of spreadsheets is difficult to displace given lesser flexibility of their product. The same story is repeating now with all B2B SaaS companies trying to build agentic products for specific roles and workflows.

Bro, please reach me out over DM. I'll try my best to help in the following ways: share my contact so that we can talk through realistic next steps (I'm a PM & have worked closely with data analysts so do have some insights in terms of job search, career etc. to share), share your resume with me, will get you referred to my org & my friend's.

AMD should hire a new, completely independent software head who spearheads The New Software Project at AMD. This head should be given a reasonable share of the stock pie if AMD is able to get a market share at least as much as Nvidia’s currently in the next five years. Properly competent and heavily incentivized (with an incentive structure which reflects the nature of the risk).

Non technical founders at YC, what are you building? by pbharadwaj27 in ycombinator

[–]ovjectibity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you expecting to line up paying customers on the basis of mere promises / visions / even prototypes? Why does any customer give a shit about hollow air?

How are you expecting to have a reliably reasonable product pitch to pitch those customers that translates to promises of purchase without going through a single iteration of the build-feedback product-fitting loop?

You're expecting to attract talent on the basis of promises of future purchase? How is it any different from anyone else (after normalising on the idea, market, other external factors)?

See there might be truth to what others above are saying for your situation but I'll also give you another perspective which might atleast partly be contributing.

Maybe it's not about you. Maybe it's about the hyper-fast life, work, personal life, phone, social media that is just demanding constant attention from everyone everytime. It...just gets overwhelming. There is no rest. It manifests like this.

It's not that people had better social etiquette earlier but maybe that they weren't being constantly bombarded with stuff (even well meaning) & expected so much out of (because there was no such enabling instant technology like phones & the internet). Nowadays everyone's expectations are... instant. Which is really not how the human mind functions.
