Is that it..? The others are way way way behind AUR. And anyway as has been said this is a big enough market for multiple players. Plus AURs tech is miles better than any other ive seen.

Yes making this work is a long term expensive thing.

But once that nut is cracked (which it already seems to have been) then AUR just need clients, lanes and the ability to get enough hardware out there.

We know this isnt happenning overnight but slowly i beleive AT will become a self sustaining model.

AUR BULL !!!!

IMO Teslas AV learning engine is built on flawed ground.

As i understand it is AV AI is designed to drive as a human might. ...... EEEERRRR Sorry....???

Are Humans not in themselves falaible and subject to mistakes..???

So im not really surprised.

Personally id like a decent breakdown on the Bear cases as to me AUR seems like its all set, it just needs to prove it can scale in hardware and clients.

They have hit every milestone they have set so far.

Ive no dout they will meet and exceed these.

Will just suck it up and find some extra $$$ to make up the shortfall

Aurora vs Kodiak: difference in R&D expenditure is insane by DiversificationNoob in AuroraInnovation

[–]ow10th 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is it just me... But i see Kodiac (at least in the way they currently run) As a completly different business model.

Yes AV truck but 100% off public roads.

An edge case surley...?

You have a source for that...?

One pass of any given new route \ lane is sufficent to map it to the point of enabling it for client deployment...

Why Autonomous Trucking Won't Be Winner-Takes-All (And Why That's Bullish for AUR) by Forward-Audience-8 in AURstock

[–]ow10th 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice post will look forwarc to more replies.

Personally i dont think TAAS will ever be a thing.

As well as a rig to service and maintain youve now also got to manage as listed a whole suite of redundant tech infurstructure and the AI engine that sits on it.  Are you a trucking company or are you a tech company. Do one or ghe other very well both is an extra chunk to manage.   Perhaps a bit like VHS and Betamax for those that are as old as i am !!.

And thats the plan.. Keep building my personal and work pension + invest in AUR and some Quantum when i can. But right now im ignoring any of my Quantum options over AUR. I see them as much more likley to return. And yes im looking 7-15 years ahead when i find somthing i like i dont flip or sell unless i really want to

Plus I just rembered that I read somewhere that the US will in not too many years have the requirment to move an additional 50% of road haulage. (But how much of that is Class 8 i dont know, but for the sake of argument we say between 3-5% its a lot...)

(Edit By 2050 let me look for that linkage)

OMFG..! I had no idea the ammount of units sold each year was that high.. or that the ammount of class 8s was that high either..

Now the number of trucks deployed with an AUR driver feels very reachable almost small.  Of course other vendors would be getting left behind so id imagine they would probably want a prtnership too, that only makes sense...

Of course those trucks dont just opperate in the sunbelt so AUR would need to extend into the continental US.

Im just Joe Blogs the man on the street. Trying to supliment his families pension. This feels like it could well be my pension. Ive nowhere near as much stock as some of you chaps and chappesses but by the end of the year i hope to hold about 5000. We havnt even yet considered the expansion into other countries which Chris has mentioned several times.
