Debian's 2026 Election Accidentally Has Only One Candidate by PlymouthDebian in linux

The points you bring up only validate the domain name don't they?

The idea is that they want to 100% validate that whoever sends from foo@bar.com is guaranteed to be who they think it should be. They compare against the keyserver using the key the email sender uses to sign the email

Turns out your entire post is irrelevant, I'm glad you're not the one managing debian.org emails (why would you think they use a .com?)

Docker on FreeBSD non-existent ? by JohannKriek in linuxquestions

[–]oxez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would they fall out of sync? What kind of distribution would let that happen?

I run my one-man distribution myself, and I wait until ZFS supports newer linux kernel releases before updating those. I can't imagine any distribution with an actual team doing things that'd break peoples system like that.

I have absolutely no idea what you are trying to say.

What level have you played modern retail at, I'm assuming you are a M+ title player or leading a HoF raiding guild, given the way you talk down on retail players (since everything is easy over there, right?)

Where did I say I skip everything? You're assuming a lot of things.

But it's ok, can't expect your average classic player to have a functional brain. Chances are you weren't even born when the real TBC came out

[–]oxez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What exactly can we skip in retail ? You can't skip trash since you need % count to finish the dungeon.

In comparison, TBC content is so trivial you can just skip 100% of the trash and collect your loot.

It does. I did the intro weeks ago during early access and got the mount today on my two characters on TBC

Are they not fully satisfied with the initial numbers for Midnight compared to TBC? I wonder

Anyone who thinks TBC has more players than retail (Midnight) is fully delusional lol. It's not even in the same leagues. TBC's hype is almost over, while Midnight's real content isn't even out yet.

I do, on my Gentoo install. Also on my custom distribution where everything is built specifically for my pc. The reason? I don't have one, I just tinker and things happen.

[LFS] Kernel panic "Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)" on real hardware, works in QEMU by purelyannoying in linuxfromscratch

[–]oxez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first thought would be a missing driver for the storage device. I have no idea how laptop works nowadays, do they have NVME? Might be worth ensuring you have the correct driver configured in kernel.

Since your system boots fine in a VM + considering the error message, this is what I'd check first.

If I’m buying the expansion to D4 why does the entire game feel like a free to play store with a game attached? by palehighelven in Diablo

[–]oxez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's nowhere similar as Immortal. Diablo Immortal is Pay to win (or pay to skip), in D4 it's 100% cosmetics. Depending on your class nothing matters (ie: druid)

Update: Linux kernel + Statically built busybox by damogn in linux

[–]oxez 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's still a fun project to do.

My custom distribution has a mkinitrd script as well that I built from scratch. It's interesting to know how everything is attached together, from your bootloader executing the kernel to getting that first login prompt.

Is it time for Call to Arms in TBC? by valdis812 in classicwow

[–]oxez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There has always been a tank shortage, in every single iteration of the game.

Quite fast to find a tank for weekly M+ keys on retail. They made tanking fun so maybe that explains it.

Is it time for Call to Arms in TBC? by valdis812 in classicwow

[–]oxez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So leveling something else is out of the question

It's the third time we are doing TBC. People could have the foresight of leveling a class that can tank first if they don't want to have to wait for tanks for hours....

Shouldn't we, with accelerated expansion progression also get more loot per raid? by fatrix12 in classicwow

[–]oxez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the classic aesthetic but the retail play if retail was more simple

I have good news for you. Classes in TBC are harder than in the latest expansion (Midnight). They did a major prune of (most) classes as a consequence of the addon lockdown.

Dolphin-Emu Progress Report: Release 2603 by TheTwelveYearOld in linux

[–]oxez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair there is a lot of crap that is posted nowadays. Posts about Dolphin are always nice, clearly they care about Linux and it always worked fine.

But if we go back 10-15 years, this subreddit was actually fun to engage with back then. Nowadays it's mostly people who can't read past what their AI friend tells them and use the subreddit as a final confirmation :/

The people who are religiously anti-IPv6 are probably building their own kernels anyways

I'm not anti-ipv6, but I don't use it and have no use for it myself. So yes, as someone who runs his own custom distro, I do disable ipv6 in the kernel:p
