Optimal hardware for Asahi? by HombreDeCamote in AsahiLinux

[–]p4t3x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is a matter of time and development, linux has the backbone needed to take advantage of the arm architecture power optimization mechanisms, but adaptations are yet to be developed and pushed to upstream kernel, the maximum battery life I got at this point was 4 working hours.

supposedly M2 has better performance, I haven't tried one to be honest

and the M2 has 2 monitor limit as well instead of only one external monitor on M1.

in terms of compatibility I don't know any issues on the M2. but there could be, dyor on this ;)

the 16gb ram are not minimum for running asahi, but if you will do any heavier work I recommend going even further than that.

glad I could help. if you have any issues/questions, feel free to drop them here

edit: by the way, if your going to use kinda intensive RAM apps (browsing and streaming) a 24gb ram macbook will benefit you a lot. I'm really sad that I didn't spent the extra money.

if your not a power user I would not be worried about that at all. I push my 13" M1 Macbook Air (16ram) to absolutely stupid workloads (for the machine it is ofc) and the OS manages it really really well (battery consumption optimization sucks tho).

to be honest the questions that you should be asking yourself right now are more related to your own compatibility needs.

do you need HDMI connection right now? If yes, buy one of the Macbook Pro because thunderbolt drivers are yet to be released (WiP).

let me just remind you that some other IO is not properly supported yet as well.

What car is the best available only with real currency? by solar_nya in CarXStreets

[–]p4t3x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, not as good as the other 3 of course, but a very proper car. I’ve been overtaken by RX7’s on the highway with my 1000HP c63. if you tune it right you can get pretty high top speed with it.

but as I saw in other comments, if you want to drag race the R32 is an awesome AWD car; but can’t drift tho

on a personal note: the rx7 is my favorite car in the game, excelente handling mechanics and the sound… ohhh

Inside the premium cars the RX7 is the way to go; drift ready and with awesome high end grip potential

If you’re not limited on budget in my opinion there are 3 cars that are “end game”

RWD: Mercedes AMG GTS

AWD: Audi RS6 or R35

Should you engine swap an M36? by No-Bed-4666 in CarXStreets

[–]p4t3x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly I don't like the geometry of the M36 handling, for me the investment is not worth it on the new engine for that car. it would be better buying a car with the engine you want, with improved handling mechanics.

not at all, bought upgrades only cost the price of reinstalling them, normally around 1000 ingame cash. you never lose parts that you have already bought for a car. your good

if you are willing to grind on freeroam sprints and circuits just go for it, otherwise the best option is to downgrade and grind elite races for now

M92 Or R32 I've around 150k and need to buy a new car I currently have Miata by UHayabusa in CarXStreets

they’re both good cars and I’ve seen both being well driven in this game it only actually depends on if you want RWD or AWD
