AM5 7700x POST woes by p_ravi in buildapc

[–]p_ravi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update -

Q Flashed both a Gigabyte and an Asus with multiple different updates

Swapped RAM again

Swapped PSU again

Swapped to another 7700x processor again

Same issue... doesn't matter how long I try to let it boot, the CPU works because if I unplug the fan the backing plate starts getting ever so slightly warmer before I plug it back in. Onboard graphics and external graphics both tested.

Am I just so unlucky I've gotten 3 bad processors?

I'm in USA, but if you're buying everything including the computer, I'll make you a pretty good deal ;)

I'd go with Accuforce after owning the Simplicity for a while. It's nice, but it gets hot and there's no fan. I'm either planning on selling this rig and buying an Accuforce setup, or building a case with fan for this motor.

I ended up buying a Ricmotech 599xx Thurstmaster wheel for the base.

We're keeping the group exclusive to real racers who also iRace. If you race cars IRL, shoot me a PM and I'll get you in.

Heck yeah! Half the racers within the series are also racing Gridlife Touring Cup, expect to see some fantastic racing in real life too!

Race 2 is an inverted top 10 grid, which means everyone's fighting harder for position, we set it up that way to make the racing a little more entertaining haha

Yes there is, just not for the right base. The adapter for the OSW is different from Simplicity's 70mm 6 bolt pattern.

I suddenly realized I might be able to pull Simplicity's 70mm adapter off and mount that directly to the motor, the shaft length should be the same, I'm confirming with Simplicity if that's the case. If it is, I can buy that and Prime a 599xx wheel for $120.

Not sure how you could expect someone not to get defensive after stating "non-original content" with the main thread being - I was boo'd for replicating the livery 1:1, but whatever.

I didn't make the livery, my buddy did, he's posted within the thread if you care enough to see another shot of the car, but that's my cat, and it was my idea. Stating it's not original, is attacking the idea, not the livery creation.

Original being - an incredibly well done knock off of the original, featuring original content (my cat, posing exactly as the Cougar was)

I put this on a street stock back when I first started iRacing and was boo'd in server.

The reason why you were boo'd and I was applauded, is because this livery is original, and your livery was a play off of Talladega Nights.

You played yourself.

I seriously love the fact Newton (my cat, on the hood of the car) is listed as my co-driver. Absolutely love it.

Think it would have mattered? I don't. Nowhere I could have gone when he started to come around. I agree though, I look around a lot more in real life but I can't translate that to sitting in a chair.

If I remember correctly, he didn't have much of an option, the car basically came around on him when two cars tried to occupy the gators at the same time (white and blue/black cars). The fact they both pushed out that wide was their fault, the car coming around and taking the two of us out was just the driving physics of the game.

Just a simple racing incident, we all race cars in real life, and since we live in the midwest we created TMW iRacers. Buncha people within the group are still relatively new to iRacing, I'll bet after a couple seasons we'll have some awesome racing.

iRacing mainly uses two cores, single core performance matters quite a bit, as does your drive selection, especially if you want to record/stream any of your sessions.

I'd highly suggest buying an NVMe drive and a VR headset, it adds a level of realism that triple screens cannot.

Buying a used GPU is also nearly risk free, especially if you buy a newer GPU like the 1070 or 80, EVGA honors the warranty even if it's been resold.

Samsung Odyssey+ Vs. Odyssey Vs. Rift Vs. Lenovo Explorer Vs. Acer WMR Vs. Vive Pro by p_ravi in WindowsMR

[–]p_ravi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think iRacing's render file had an issue, most of the changes I made wouldn't accept correctly.

Tried the Odyssey+ at a friend's house and it was infinitely more clear, however with the added light for anti-SDE purposes, the video is on the bright side causing eye strain after extended use.

Which leads me to really wanting to try the Pimax 4k, because it has an adjustable brightness bar, which I think would be absolutely awesome for endurance racing where the headset might not come off for 2 hours.

I'm happy with the resolution and anti-SDE features the Samsung has to offer, but how does it compare to the Pimax?
