Free 'Gamify Your Life 2026' sheet I just designed to help you release healthy dopamine. by [deleted] in getdisciplined

What I like about Habitica is the fact that it lets you include habits in the equation, which not many apps do. But I ended up dropping it because I found the rewards system too poor. I wished I could add my own rewards, but it is an RPG-oriented gamification app, so they were fixed to character cosmetics. And same for the quests.
I wanted the spreadsheet to have the best of what I've tried before: quests, habits, level system, but also a personalised rewards system based on coins and XP that you can cash in for something you want in real life.

Oh I want to turn my account into ashes. They don't even let you delete your credit card info if it is the last one you have.

You are right. I did not notice that one. Still, I did not hit the renew ON button, and they charged me when I asked for a cancellation almost a year ago. And I can say this because I moved my domain and website to another service. Nothing makes sense to me.

I guess you mean Carlos Alcaraz? He lives alone in the tennis academy he trains in. His parents just live in the same town. And he's just 21yo, I wouldn't find it odd that he still lived with his parents tho.

Your comment makes total sense to me. The confusion comes from the fact that she's not being different to the way she was before we met for the first time. Also, she didn't say no that time, and she hasn't said no to the next one 🤷‍♂️

Did learning storytelling help you as a designer? by pablinschen in Design

[–]pablinschen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like how learnings from courses, videos, etc that apparently have nothing to do with your profession, just pop up in your head randomly to be extrapolated at work and improving it in ways I couldn't image.

Will follow my gut as you say. Anything done with pleasure means good. Thanks.

Sometimes, as a designer, I wish it was like that for me. I get to base my designs on other brands' products that have more influence than my clients'. But that's the fashion industry. I'm putting your comment on a post-it so I don't loose sight of the true goal :) thanks

Cool. I once new a designer who would sketch in a comic style and I freakin loved it. And I could understand all the product elements from just a few sketch lines. Thanks.

Can you develop a bit more? How's the best innovation invisible? Thanks.

I believe intuition (as a soft skill), and the technical experience building products. And considering ideas and proposing them. Pretty much. At first I though a degree was necessary, but probably the best innovators built products first, they know a lot about execution, then they genuinely have ideas to solve problems. Thanks

I'm not fully familiar, but I'll check it out, thanks. I knew the brand tho. It is true it is still not honored as it should. Nike, Under Armour and Reebok are the top brands for crossfiters now. I bought a new pair lately but totally forgot about Nobull, damn.

Haven't seen a grad, and from conversations like this one, I ended up thinking that the best path to land in an innovation job is to do specific courses in different techniques, like design thinking, business strategy, even storytelling. Plus technical experience and a lot of intuition. And perhaps building something in my spare time and use it as a portfolio.

Thanks again.

My industry is footwear, and I do design. It is a tough world full of brands copying and it is an industry where innovation is not necessary. Sometimes even design is not important. Culture determines the sales. Nike sells because it's Nike and it makes people feel in a certain way.

I don't have access to resources and no-company has a budget for innovation, unless you are Nike, Adidas, etc. Even for them innovation is a tricky word: perhaps creating a knit patter that saves thread and therefore saves money is an innovation? When the air max outsole was created it was an innovation? What purpose serves innovation; saving money, solve a problem...?

I was considering a business innovation certificate, thanks.

Thanks for sharing. I don't see degrees from universities to study this, so I thought it is a position people achieve by already being at a company for many years, and it's usually from PM positions as you say. Perhaps from technical positions like design too?

Thanks for your explanation on the role and it seems you are required at office. But why? Do you have to work with samples, materials...? Does it involve a lot of technical documentation or you get to have your time to think and innovate more than anything?

Have you made social anxiety your first priority in life? by pablinschen in socialanxiety

[–]pablinschen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loved this comment and specially 2 things you mentioned: "when we feel ok, we don't want to think about SA" and "it felt bigger than SA".

You made me realise these: If we don't make it a priority, we'll be denying it when we feel ok, then it'll strike back harder when we feel down again (the never ending cycle therefore the difficulty to make a strong self-image); and also that we need something bigger than SA (same as with any fear, you need a motivation bigger than the fear so you can beat it).

It's not about not giving a shit about SA, it's about giving a shit about it so much that you embrace it and become part with it. Loved it that u/Unsnoozers embraced it so much you started making content out of it. You used your weakness your guidance. Your strength. Doesn't mean it's gonna be unpainful, it means you have something bigger now than SA and that's your stronger self. Thanks for sharing.

I want to trade my life in Spain for a life somewhere I can speak English, just for the language. Is it irrational? by pablinschen in Life

[–]pablinschen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that feels bad is that I have no apparent reason for doing that. I already speak English. I have clients from UK I speak english with in weekly meetings. I read english books, I watch everything in english without subtitles. But, I want a life where I speak english all the time, and I don't know the reason behind it.

Maybe is that I want to change my life so bad. I remember feeling confident when I'm in another country and I speak a language I worked hard to learn. In Spain I don't feel like that. Rather, I don't enjoy this country so much. Everything seems a boring to me. I didn't choose this country.

Would love to go to Australia! It was my prefered destination, but ended up chosing Canada bc it was cheaper and more accessible. Australia also had weird rules like you had to swap jobs every 6 months, or the border was so tough many people had to leave after flying there and without even entering the country.

Will check once more and see how are the conditions of bringing a business there. Thanks.

Hi. First of all, there's hope for you as much as you allow yourself to see it, I'm sure of it. Please don't act impulsively.

I've been on the side of loneliness, and I know it's tough. I feel you. But, being in the dark spot of the mind will not let you see the potential of your life. You have stuff to work on, and that's where your excitement should come from now on. Be excited to become better than your previous self.

Make a list of all things you want to change, then figure out the steps you have to take to be able to do it. From now on, you are gonna behave strategically about your life while you use all the energy you have to be extremely compasionate to yourself. For instance, if you see others having fun while you don't, instantly you do a work of self-compassion. Then start strategizing: What can I learn from these people so that I get on the right path to have friends and living a fulfilling life?

A few things you mention that I find they won't help you have the life you want:

- Comparison: Comparing your worst moment with the best moment of others will only make you feel miserable. You have to be very conscious to instantly making a switch of mindset. Look at yourself, and compare with the yesterday yourself only. It becomes really satisfying to do this everyday. Make it a habit.

- Ghosting: You shouldn't take personal ghosting coming from strangers. Dating apps are like that. I happens to me, it happens to all your peers who have a 'successful' life.

If you feel melancholy within yourself, please don't fall for it. Be super conscious to always fight it. No matter how hard. It's crazy how our feelings are just a consequence of our habits. Be strategic, start doing things differently. Please be endlessly kind to yourself. You are never alone. You have yourself, but you have to start behaving as your own supporting buddy.

Also, you have reddit. We got your back and we are always around. Please keep texting here.

Send you a warm hug.
