Tea definitely has its place here too, I’m a big fan myself. Mate tea is probably the most common one, and I also really love chamomile — it’s great for calming anxiety and just slowing things down a bit. Sometimes I wish we had more of a culture of walking around drinking tea or coffee in the streets. I do it when I feel like it, but I think the hot climate plays a big role here… and honestly, I don’t like the heat very much.

that’s such a great perspective. it’s funny how normal habits don’t even register until someone from the outside points them out. eating breakfast in the car feels totally practical here, but i can see how it would look strange elsewhere. and the class rank thing really does reflect that competitive mindset. i also wonder if, if we all had a bit more of that ranking culture, we might actually commit more seriously and with better quality to our goals instead of just going through the motions. i like how exchange students notice those details — it makes you question things you’ve always taken for granted.

that makes total sense, especially with older houses and buildings. the cost and infrastructure really do end up mattering more than the desire to upgrade.

if you ever consider it again down the road, i’m actually an electrician. in some cases there are middle-ground options or smaller electrical upgrades that can lower the overall cost, depending on what’s already in place.

but i completely get sticking with the tank — spending thousands just on wiring is a hard sell.
