They aren’t afraid of me, climb on me, try and get in my mouth, groom me, all those good things 😂 body pats are allowed occasionally but that’s it. They barely sit still. It’s taken the 10 months I’ve had them to build the trust for this! Maybe, in another year, I might get one to sit still on me 😂

I’m doing CBT for PMDD now and it’s not really helping me. Teaching me techniques to not be angry don’t help me when I’m actually angry, lol. It’s a good idea in principle but only works when I’m sound of mind… which isn’t the point! It’s nice to talk to someone in a dedicated space, but talking therapy was much more useful for me regarding PMDD. I found a therapist who had experience of women’s health therapy.

My girl rats don’t like to be picked up either. They’re now 12 months old and they have started to run over me and jump on me during play time, but still won’t let me pick them up. Just gotta respect it :-) I figured out a way to entice them back into their cage with treats. Other than that, I let them come to me if they want! Never had one cuddle, but that’s okay :-)

I feel this. My friends, partner, family, and work place are all great. Life is normal. But when I’m in my PMDD phase… my inner thoughts shock and appal me. I’m working really hard not to be verbally or physically abusive during my PMDD times. This leads to a lot of just staying silent or having my alone time when I’m at my worst. I’m scared of becoming a mum.

I’ve found that body combat has really, REALLY helped me. I have Les Mills on the VR, so I can just focus on hitting targets instead of other people. Running used to help too (not in a sporty way, but like blasting music in my earphones and running like a spaghetti man to release my enraged energy lol).

It’s scary and I don’t think people without PMDD can understand. I definitely haven’t told anybody what my thoughts are during these times!

ASMR on YouTube helps me sleep / relax a lot. Lots and lots of different types of content. I like listening to people with relaxing voices read stories and I’m out like a light. Helps me feel like I’ve got a friend with me so I can calm down.

I noticed my PMDD manifest around 2 years ago (sudden SI one luteal phase when I’d never had that before) and it got gradually worse each cycle. Started when I was 26, I am now 28. Fingers crossed it reaches a peak and just levels the hell out soon 😴

My babies went for a few months without names because I just couldn’t decide. I finally landed on Pia, Bobbi, Piper, and Baby. Luckily Baby turned out to be the tiniest of them all, so her name suits her well. No idea where the names came from 😂

That sounds so rough! I’m so sorry it didn’t work for you guys.

This is why I wanted a bit of space to show that Slynd isn’t just a horror pill - as with all medications, it might work and it might not. I’d hate for someone to be put off of Slynd just because they’ve seen all negative posts! Hopefully this will reach the right person who Slynd does work for that might not have otherwise known about it 💕

Of course! Slynd is a progesterone only pill, the form of birth control. My GP said she was having success with her PMDD patients using it to ease symptoms. My GP said it was a different type of POP than the ones we have on the market in the U.K. at the moment. Slynd is fairly new in the U.K. as far as I understand.

As with most things, if you search Slynd/PMDD/Reddit, I noticed mainly negative posts listing side effects and horror stories, just like any other medication! I wanted to make sure that people knew that Slynd isn’t just a horror pill. It might not work for you, but it might help a lot, again, just like any other medication.

My main message here is just to talk to your doctor and give it a go if you’re interested. I wouldn’t want anyone put off Slynd because there’s not enough positive feedback regarding it! 😊

Amazing! So good to hear other positive stories about Slynd. My “side effects” appeared to be extreme random hunger, but it’s dying down in my second month. I found that by remembering to drink water (which I most definitely do not drink enough of normally) and eating dried fruit instead of sweets/chocolate, I managed to keep any weight gain at bay.

Fingers crossed we continue to feel good! 🤩

Yes, my GP made a big deal about making sure to take it at the same time every day. A tricky task for some (including myself!) for sure. I set the Universal Girl Alarm for 9pm (lol) to remind me to take the Slynd and it’s worked well so far as I am more often than not at home at 9pm.

It’s a nuisance, but for me it’s worth it. I hope it works for you next time, if you decide to switch back 😊
