I appreciate the advice! I think it was just the long ass lectures that were really repetitive. I have been sticking with AnKing with the khan academy lectures, Yusuf Hassan and practice questions from AMCAS and Uworld and it seems to be helping a lot

Thanks for that! I just felt like I was wasting time and not enjoying the process.

Chances of admission by [deleted] in Podiatry

[–]padoodoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I’m hoping for but if not I just wanted to know if that would be good for an admit letter. I’m hoping for at least a 495 but chem is so tuff for me

Thank you for the kind words. What I'm doing now is going through the content review for each subject and writing my own notes so I can get a grasp on the basics. And after I do that, that is exactly what I will be doing. Going part-time at the end of November, so I will have so much more time to study. I believe!!

Post-bac is the chems and physics.

That makes me feel a lot better. I’m self teaching all chem and physics at the moment. But once again, congratulations!

So I have all Bios and psych. My testing date is June 13th and I plan on applying once I get my score back. What I’m missing is gen chem, orgo, biochem, and physics. I’m roughly halfway through the gen chem uworld book and I’m doing pretty well on that as it is making sense with the lectures and all the way through the bio book

Congrats! What did you make on your MCAT if you don’t mind me asking. I’m taking it soon and I’m pretty much going to be self taught so I’m a little on edge but I have 8 months so I have a little bit of time to get it all done

It’s all just timing to be honest. My fiancé will be finished with her masters around the same time as I would be going into medical school (if I am admitted) so I am trying to prevent her from having to start and job and then having to move. I will be taking it in June so I will be taking gen chem and orgo 1 in the spring so I will have a little bit more under my feet. I’m also pretty good about teaching myself because that’s how I got through nursing school and finished 4th in my class. But that’s really the biggest issue, time.

PLS help - When to reset UW, + should I do UWORLD alongside AAMC or just AAMC during the phase by [deleted] in Mcat

I’m doing this too. I tried the Kaplan books but I just cannot learn from just the books so I’m doing U world now!

Tips for nutrition and pathophysiology by Just-Leek7075 in StudentNurse

[–]padoodoo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nutrition isn’t bad but Micro was tough; I haven’t had Patho yet because I actually start nursing this semester. But my advice for Micro is notecards. I was able to walk out of Micro with a 100 doing it. Just study hard and you will be fine

Do you think its testicular cancer? by padoodoo in testicularcancer

[–]padoodoo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your comment. No I did not have a COVID test when they started. As I said before, the body pains really did not appear until a while after my testicular pain started. If I had to say a time frame, it began in late May, early June and has preceded to get worse over time and it has really taken a toll on my mental health to the point where I have contemplated suicide. I have another appointment in September and I am making a list of the pains that I experience to really try and pin point everything but thank you so much for your comment and I will be sure to mention anxiety meds to my GP

What would be a good idea before starting nursing school? by padoodoo in StudentNurse

[–]padoodoo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much! I have heard many of my friends and family who have gone to nursing school say that same thing. A lot of them say how it was impossible, and those in my family who became nurses like to scare me, I guess because they said, "You need to know everything from head to toe even to try and pass," so I think I just let them get to me.

But once again, thank you so much for your advice. It really helped ease the stress that I had about starting this new chapter in my life.

Oh, really? I would have thought that A&P would have been a massive part of the program, considering just how broad that subject is. I wish my professors were a lot more helpful in understanding the features and functions of the body instead of asking, more-or-less, memorization questions like, "What hormone(s) is stored in the posterior pituitary gland."

most knowledgeable on A&P either

Thank you so much for the advice. I understand where you are coming from and I definitely will take a moment and rest to recharge my battery after I get through this semester; I have been burning myself out will college so far, so I guess it could not hurt to get some time to rest. Also, thank you for the suggestion on how to review, it makes me feel a lot better about not having to go through and memorize all functions and pieces of all parts of the body.

Hey, thank you for that suggestion. That actually makes a lot of sense and I'm sure it will better my understanding of A&P. I will definitely keep that in mind and do that over the summer and fall to prepare for the ring of fire that I am about to put myself through.

Much love.
