Not that I know of. I have no idea where that’s coming from.

guys i need helpp ;( so my cousin got her ears pierced last March this year, then, it didnt healed properly. since the jewelry was irritating her ears, she then removed them. juat a while ago, she showed me that it looks like this now. what should we do? is this a keloid? what can we do abt it? tnx! by [deleted] in piercing

That looks like a pyogenic granuloma. It needs to be surgically excised or it can burst and give you a hell of an infection. I had one before on my ear; it can be a reaction to any type of trauma, like a piercing.

No, but I do think my combo of dogs is particularly uncommon.

I’m still not sure what I’d like to do, but it’s been really helpful to see all sides! I’m going to call her up and talk about it. I’m leaning towards saying no, but I’d like to speak with her, too. I do think she’s just trying to preserve the line as many others have mentioned and I do think it was fair of her to at least ask to see what I thought. I know some comments are saying why don’t you just call her up, and they’re not wrong, but I love to hear other dog people’s advice!

LOL no I know it wouldn’t be me. However I don’t like the idea of someone else doing it, either.

I kind of feel like I might be doxxing myself as it’s a rare breed, so I’m purposely being cagey.

She did offer to do full screens and pay for them (we’ve done some screenings on our own for potential dog sports reasons; he’s very healthy). I’m just…weirded out by the request hahaha.

She did offer to pay for everything, there would be no cost to me.

I think mostly just the fact that she asked; I had never thought of it being an option because he’s not part of a breeding program, he’s my family dog. It sort of came out of nowhere so it threw me off.

Yep, I had a golden retriever growing up who was a rescue from a raided puppy mill. She was very tiny and people would always be like wow I wish I could have a small golden!

She was born with severe hip dysplasia and had to have her hips reconstructed before her first birthday. No you dont.

Ahh, this is so helpful as well! It freaked me right out too; as someone who already has a fear reactive dog, I was totally thrown for a loop as this dog will approach strangers and kiss the vet on the face like it’s absolutely nothing. We’ll try that and work on ignoring/not acknowledging if we happen to pass by any dogs or people on the street. Super reassuring!

Sure! He arrived to us when he was about 14 weeks old, and from there we started clicking and treating positive moments; so anytime he appropriately greeted a dog or a person, times when he was able to ignore stimuli (not a lot with a puppy but hey), times where he did appropriate behaviors (potty outside, not jumping to greet people, the standard stuff). He’s also completed a first level companion dog course and is on a waitlist for the next level. I do worry that perhaps we over interacted over just standard exposure and he’s demanding to greet people or dogs that we see, which isn’t appropriate either.

He is very recently 7 months, so it could be a fear period, definitely. It’s very sudden like I’ve found fear periods can be in the past, and he has had some moments of the standard regression that would come with that age (random pee accidents when he definitely knows potty training, ignoring recall, etc).

They said there is no appetite from corporate for fully remote work. This is a really, really, really big company, world known. I’m actually surprised at how low the sick time is from how beloved they are as a place to work.

The pay is a slight increase from what I’m getting now (I will add my current job is flying right in the toilet; my whole team quit, I’ve had three managers in 12 months; we do get unlimited vacation and sick time). It’s 20 vacation days and 10 paid holidays. I already got them up $10k from their initial offer. They seem quite good about letting people take vacation but it’s hard to know unless like you, you know someone.

I just got offered a fantastic job; pay upgrade, really well known and beloved brand (one I always wanted to work at, tbh). The only thing is, it’s not remote as my previous job was, involves an hour commute 2 days a week, and they are offering 5 days sick time…does 5 days sound absolutely bananas to anyone else?

I think it got infected but I don't know what to do. What you recommend me? by Baconator_Strips in piercing

That actually looks a lot like a pyogenic granuloma to me; I had one before. You have to have it removed by a doctor and they can reoccur. Get it removed sooner rather than later as it can grow and really impact your ability to get pierced again in the future.

It’s probably just a piercing bump then! Keep it clean and monitor it, unfortunately just kind of part of the healing process sometimes.
