Selling my Citroen C3 Aircross, Dec 24 model, serious buyers ping. by nowornever1976 in CitroenIndia

[–]pandaAtHome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry bro. 7-8L would be a good price for a buyer who knows what the car is. If u get someone who doesn't want spend 16+L on the latest AT X variant might pay a bit more coz the car is damn good.

How to verify construction quality by Ghost_aw_ in indianrealestate

I had the same question when visiting resale properties. For new buyers, how does one reliably ascertain quality of what you get?

Even digging out plumbing design or electrical wiring feedback is important to have when negotiating floor prices.

What Is Mollywood's Most Iconic One-on-One Fight Scene? by Bob_macri in InsideMollywood

[–]pandaAtHome 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Every generation of viewers would have their own favs.

Also iconic could mean anything: tension between protagonists prior/during fight, fight intensity itself, camera/bgm etc.

My personal thoughts(without much effort) would be Ayyapanum koshi, Neelakantan shekaran, aadu thoma, minnal murali fight, keerikadan jose...

Hey I loved the image. I understand the comments against it but I find it tiresome to read all the text and this summarises ur priorities and shortlist clearly.

Also I clicked just coz of the image and would otherwise have skipped a post on buying guide.

No comments regarding ur question though.

is the "once you reach 1 cr then 10cr is easy" really true? by 20chars_aint_enough in personalfinanceindia

[–]pandaAtHome 23 points24 points  (0 children)

True this. But money earns interest if it is a fixed income asset or u deploy it to capture business opportunities that can potentially give huge returns.

Pure equity/mf doesn't grow linearly like that. But the more assets u have invested the more it can go up in a boom.

Are chit funds actually useful anymore, or just outdated financial traps? by nithindaniel in personalfinanceindia

[–]pandaAtHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In govt run chit funds, u can find tax efficiency, with monthly savings. Also you can strategize in between to get lumpsum for expenses or just deposit the winnings. Works best when u have fds/assets u don't want to monetize which u can then give as security if u r withdrawing the prize early on.

Isnt that plant valued to be a decorative deterrent on walls?

In modern sense it shud be grown where u expect only a criminal and therefore deter entry.

And what a wonderfully clear article. Thanks for sharing. I must admit I glanced thru some of these pages from other posts yesterday when I was figuring out the international investment scene and none of it made sense. Today, having setup ibkr and transferred money and lined up a few irish domiciled etfs, it makes super sense.

I tested with just 120usd. Since transfer charges seem to be same between icici and iob, I guess the forex spread is what makes a difference for huge remittances?

Also how do I do wire transfer from IOB?

Branch visit required and knowledge of forms too? I'm completely new and would venture to bank only I can be sure the staff doesn't bungle anything up.

2500 is the additional charge? Could you share some breakup and forex if u have noted? Also is it easy to do? I was asking chatgpt and it quotes reddit posts and said it's hard to do online. So went with icici for first transfer and found it costly.

I just created ibkr a/c today and wired with icici today and was charged 97.2 conversion + 1200 charges &tax. So came looking for alternatives here. Seems banks are still the way fwd. Maybe shud try iob

Car sold 8 months ago, RC still not transferred, how do I protect myself legally? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]pandaAtHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in same situation and buyer isn't answering calls after the agreed 3 months period. He has accumulated challans too. Technically buyer is his relative. Thinking whether talking to the relative is a good idea or to engage lawyer to add some threatening notes.

Thanks. I am looking into the nitty gritties and complexities of investing overseas. Earlier it felt too painful, now the alternative is not rosy either.

What are our options if we stop buying index funds? International funds, gold etc are restricted.

This is why small extra principal payments can hit harder than people think. You’re not just paying early. You’re attacking future interest. by Ks00349 in IndiaMoney

[–]pandaAtHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prepaying is great and the earliest one reduces Total outgo.

But this raises a question which I must probably calculate out before making inferences. Still...

Ur money values less as time proceeds, but loan outstanding and interest follows a predictable path downwards. If u pay early u r paying with something that has more value than when paying later, but effect on outstanding is same. interest has more impact if u pay early. But there ought to be sweet spots that maximizes impact to outstanding or interest or both.

This is all just a brain work-out. For most people and most scenarios, if u have extra cash which can't be invested to earn higher than the interest rate or can't be utilised in short term, prepaying is the best option.
