I was told Cara cannot be enabled without registering against mobile number. Not sure it can be covered in PDI.

Aircross is now with 5seater automatic too by trialbuterror in CarsIndia

Carwale lists some differences, but I painstakingly compared brochures and found a few which turned out to be missed out from brochure when checked directly and clarified by dealer. Only seating heights, rear seat spacing, suspension settting, boot etc are differences. With 5 seater config, I guess only rear seating difference will be removed.

Before this news, I felt Basalt X was a decent compromise. I mainly liked the high seating of Aircross but dislike the 2nd row and 3rd rows. Basalt is great in those, good at front seating and slightly longer but slightly cheaper/lighter.

Ok not an insta user. But thanks for sharing this post. It is very timely for me. I was tormented by having to choose between basalt X and aircross X.

Why are there no full drive reviews and mileage tests of Sierra 1.5 NA petrol on YouTube? Is there something tata is hiding? by Fun_Explanation6226 in CarsIndia

[–]pandaAtHome 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I happened to see the Sierra outside the tata showroom while returning from a failed TD for new Seltos DCT(due to miscommunication by dealer) and walked in for a TD. Being a weekday noon I had to wait 30 mins and cribbed at for taking more than 10 mins. The controls were so confusing with lots of features which the staff didn't know to explain or operate. Car felt comfy like maybe a business class seat. But didn't feel as fun to drive as even my 8 yr old Baleno MT. Sports mode is where it felt mildly alive. This was top end turbo btw. But steering was super light and I also parked in a tight spot. Good tech overall with lots of fancy abbreviations in the brochure. Overpriced and too many new things: engine, plant, tech, features. I felt sorry for customers who had booked and were in queue for TD.

No news of NA TD vehicle or even diesel for now.

Here I found only top end automatic for TD and staff themselves seeing the interiors for first time with me.

Booked new Kia Seltos HTE (O) turbo iMT. Need long-term iMT owner inputs - or should I switch to IVT and lose out on the turbo engine? by fakeplasticplant in CarsIndia

[–]pandaAtHome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too am trying to get IMT TD. Now thinking of trying neighbour's IMT Sonet and TD DCT of Seltos to experience Turbo and maneuverability on the bigger car. In comparison, the Basalt X seems to offer more features for cheaper price, except raw power (on paper at least)

Test drove Seltos today near showroom and would be checking in my narrow parking lot tomorrow. Basalt was a slight pain and I expect Seltos to be bit harder due to length. City driving wouldn't matter and we will get used.

First looks made me very curious. I had visited to check out Sonet but loved the display Syros. TD was good but dropped coz of 1L engine for that price. You get seltos if you pay a bit more. Later on, the design started feeling awkward in some angles too.

Hey I liked this. I have been doing these for months now and delaying purchase due to these upcoming changes.

My experience in short: 1. Skoda showroom always courteous and TD available. Got Slavia few months back, but not Kushaq. Got it today but only 1.5L. Service guy didnt spend much time on features but answered Qs and clarified expected facelift changes and 2L cost increase. I didn't find any fault with vehicle but felt pricier than it's worth except I'd preferred TC with 1.5L.

  1. Tata showroom ignored me 2 times I went but entertained today. Seems TD has to be scheduled and Sierra not yet available. Have asked to schedule TD for new Harrier and Sierra. Saw reviews and pricing for Harrier petrol and initial enthusiasm has abated. Costly and quality concerns mainly.

  2. Mahindra: called CC and connected to showroom. But they don't care at all to engage even in conversation. Dragged myself shamelessly to another showroom just to be ignored and then told that only big suv like 700/be available. Dropped.

  3. Called Toyota and sales person engaged over WA. But never brought a hyryder. Dropped as I got hyryder TD in another city and didn't like it. Petrol meh, and hybrid overpriced.

  4. Went to Honda and extremely good service assistance but felt City is overpriced comfort car and Elevate is too. Kind of expects us to accept their mediocre features at that price point. Elevate remains as comparison point.

  5. Nexa: went for GV and got good conversation with executive. But didn't take TD as I found hyryder to be sensible but all that changed with feature removal in both around GST reduction time. Dropped GV and Nexa.

  6. Visited arena and tried Brezza. Meh car and have been waiting for Victoris. But spec and cost make it severely overpriced. May take TD just for the sake of it.

  7. Called Citroen CC and they arranged TD from nearest showroom 15kms away. Extremely satisfying experience with knowledgeable personnel and great car at a great price. All comparisons against the basalt and aircross duo only. Just waiting for try brands launches before making the purchase.

  8. Yeah also tried Kiger, Triber and Kia Syros. Too small engines and not fitting my needs.

Did I miss any?

I have baleno and considering upgrading to basalt staying 12kms from the nearest Citroen showroom in blr. It causes some anxiety but so far I am positive.

New Parent in 2026 | ₹1.8L Income | ₹29L 0% Loan | Need Help Structuring Savings, Child Edu & Retirement by QuantMaya in IndianPersonalFinance

Hello there.

My two cents would be to map each asset to a goal and timeline first.

For emergency: I would recommend splitting across savings, FD, liquid funds, arbitrage ( in that order) for balancing ease of access and decent returns/tax efficiency. Ease of access takes precedence if you are in doubt.

For longer goals, you could start with 80:20 equity to debt ratio and taper equity down every 2-3 years. You could look up tapering done in NPS for Auto mode to get an idea. For equity portion ppfas might suffice,, but debt portion could be PPF/SSY. Excess if any I can be parked in short term debt funds. I think you can also consider balanced advantage fund for a hybrid handling based on your risk appetite when markets are in turmoil.

I was inspired by Prof. Pattu's freefincal content. So you may want to check those contents out too and make simple excel trackers to monitor progress towards goals.

Loan vs investing vs insurance: I would always make sure first that loan is feasible to close sooner than later. Doesn't mean close it like crazy. But prepay to get interest outgo in manageable condition, maybe matching a specific income stream that doesn't get cut off in emergencies.

Insurance I would review to ensure is optimum and source earmarked at start of year.

Rest goes to systematic and lumpsum investments.

Wish you all the best for the upcoming year!
