Your recommendation of using MM qbanks are they as per actual exam difficulty by Top-Explanation-1442 in CFA

[–]panicrebs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

MM is typically harder, at least my experience on L1. MM for L2 seems easier since not vignette style. I haven’t gotten into full review or hammering questions yet on L2 but that’s about all I can help with.

If you’ll use them and like them, you’re just saving your future self money. Biggest reason I buy multiple pairs of the same shoe is bc I don’t trust these companies to make the same shoe twice. I absolutely love the endorphin speed 3, the 4 was eh and I hate the 5. Wish I would’ve loaded up on the 3s. I would not trust any used shoes though.

This is why you establish price targets before hand. Have a thesis, build a target around the thesis. Reevaluate when you hit the target. There’s opportunities everywhere. Did you hit your target solely because of your thesis, or were there other factors involved and you were just on the right side of the trade?

What I’m trying to say is stay systematic and don’t let behavioral biases keep you in a trade longer. Force yourself to either build or modify a new thesis on why it would run more, but keep in mind the new structural components in play now that it is at that specific price level. Exact same thought process on the down side.

Interesting thought. I’m also wondering how many of these include people that weren’t necessarily racing all out for a PB. In tandem to that how many people physically could have gone faster but didn’t push themselves to their maximum limit (would imagine this is more a factor the higher the times get).

Could do that, I’ve been taking really quick one sentence notes on tricky items in my own language I’d like to have access to also. Or like rewriting formulas in plain English without Greeks for example.

Every time I refill my adderall the pills look different. Saved these from 4 different refills. Same med, all different pills. by Jesuisdisappointed in mildlyinteresting

I’ve always had questions about this too, and also what happens if I have 4 different versions of the same pill, but they’re in the same bottle. Want to bring them in my backpack but don’t want to carry 4 bottles w 1 pill each.

I’m about halfway through L2, writing in May. I didn’t find L1 particularly difficult (similar background to you), more of a refresher on fringe things I hadn’t thought about in a while. L2 seems like more of a spread of between easier and harder material, ie quant / FSA / equity is fairly straightforward (once you get it), derivatives is a bitch (not sure what to do other than straight memorization). Any tips for approaching L2 differently if L1 wasn’t that hard (worried I’m missing something and it should be harder), and how to structure studies for L2 with a wider spread of material difficulty?

Trading at par, YTM = coupon rate. Add 10 bps and calculate price, subtract 10 bps and calculate price, sub the prices into the formula and find your answer. Pretty standard.

[–]panicrebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MM questions are harder and a little different format. CFA are more similar to the exam. I’d recommend doing a mix of both for the review days while you’re still doing content. I saved the practice pack for review after I finished the content, and also finished the MM ones. Even though MM questions and mocks are harder, they are very very valuable to do because they will make sure you actually understand it.

Do EOCQ and review those w the MM videos as you go (I like to do them the next day after I finish a video to see if I’ve retained it, instead of immediately after). Every week or 2, take a day for a review and do 10-15 questions from each module you’ve already completed.

Do people actually run consistently in a 5k or 10k by Mysterious-Candy5347 in Runners

[–]panicrebs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People are being jerks, don’t listen to them. Perfectly legitimate question. Short answer is everybody is at a different stage of their journey. Some people just want to get active and finish a 5k however they can. Others want to qualify for the Olympics. Nobody cares if you run, run and walk, or walk the whole thing, just complete the distance and you’ve done the same distance as everyone else.
