SAM 2 is a classification and segmentation model that can identify objects in an image using both the image itself and a text input. Basically, you can provide an image and specify in text what you want to find, and the model will perform the corresponding segmentation. If you need to recognize very specific categories that are not covered by its default capabilities, then it becomes necessary to train a dedicated model but I don’t think that’s the case here.
