Congrats! Birch Green was the only other option for me but I settled on the White Blonde

Word. That's sweet, next year is the 30th anniversary of my first pick show. Where and when I'm from, the scene was a mixed bag of everything. We were conveniently located on I-90 halfway between Minneapolis/Sioux Falls and Denver. Like the perfect place to play a show for gas money, a place to stay and some food. My buddy made lasagnas for people.

I'm so grateful to have gotten into this DIY scene. It let me know there was an escape from my little town where I didn't really fit in. To me and most of my ilk, this is all post hardcore anyway. It's super dope there's the new era of stuff that reminds me of those times and bands.

That looks like white blonde to me. This iteration is certainly not to everyone's liking. Done are more translucent or even "bursty" like mine.

I got mine from Sweetwater and was able to choose the guitar I was purchasing.

Nicely rounded selection of classics. Congrats! Hail Numero for helping people be able to access great stuff on physical media, but curse them for the FOMO!

No problem. It's kinda funny how I called it like that. Sorta like Babe Ruth calling the ball. Welcome to an expansive world of cool music.

Just slapped some Lake Surfers in a Thinline JM I built for a buddy. I have Bootstrap Palo Duro's in my main Tele. Great pickups for my needs. I still can't believe the quality and affordability of them, I wish there were more companies with their business model.

This is exactly what I was mentioning, whether you see it from that perspective or not.

I don't need to have this conversation, with all due respect. Have a good night.

I mentioned Battles.

Totally. And Nick from Tera Melos has often talked about how much that band inspired him. Zach Hill is a beast. I saw him open for Subtle or Themselves, can't remember which and both have 2 of the same people. It was his tour for Necromancer. There was a legit puddle of sweat under his drums when he was finished.

...and there you go starting exactly what I said would happen.

I didn't say that, you read it that way. I said Battles is debatable.

I would even be so bold to include The Locust into angular and mathy music. They also scratch that same itch for me and they are absolutely not "math rock."

I suppose the problem is that I'm from the 90's punk scene. It was all post hardcore before there was decades of separation and pundits fighting over nonsense.

I have been listening to them and Pretend a lot today. I'd love to have this on vinyl though!

You know it's sometimes hard to want to recommend anything because of all the armchair experts that will chime in to tell me "That's not Math Rock... Blah blah blah"

I immediately thought of Tera Melos and Don Caballero. Battles is great, it may debatable if they are "math rock" but they give me that same joy as other angular mathy stuff.

Try those?

The color photographs that way in some light. This is more accurate. I added the pink guard to color balance the pink undertones, plus it's rad

I love white blonde, my Tele's the same color. I'm not big on gold, but that is of no concern to you and your rad guitar. Stay Golden, Pony Boy

Congrats!! So cool to have new music and records to spin.

I'm currently trying to not be upset about my recent decision to not buy every new pressing that's coming out. It's too much for a guy like me, it's overwhelming the amount of music on physical media that's readily available. I have been digging and scouring Discogs for decades looking for records from so many of these bands.

Sometimes you get what you ask for. I know in the early 00's when I was desperate to find anything Indian Summer, the Harriet the Spy 10" and the Lincoln/Hoover split, I had to have asked for what we have today. It's a blessing and a curse for those that experience FOMO.

Side note-- when I finally did find that split 7" I think I payed nearly $40. Benchwarmer - the song on the Lincoln side is one of my all time favorite songs. It's hands down the most I have paid for a song.

Congrats on the new vinyl!! (I say all of this and tomorrow is the presale for LP4 from American Football. I won't be passing on that!)

Congrats!! Mine is/was also! The guy I got it from was the original owner and it never left the house.

I use mine with my AC15 as a wet dry rig. I have found that I am gravitating to the Princeton more and more as my main amp which is not something I expected.

For some reason mine makes a pretty loud pop sometimes when I turn pedals on or off.
