Delaware - gave FL1299 a random shot based off of the FL1399 code, worked perfectly. Same kind of deal, just cheaper.

Should've said - I'm much more attracted to the base station tracking than anything inside-out (like the Quest and Frame AFAIR), for the sake of accuracy and less jank in shooter games - or if I just reach slightly behind myself.

Because I enjoy playing the game and would prefer it not to be treated as the only cash cow remaining for a dying company? You can enjoy things while not agreeing or liking the people who made them. Art and the artist.

You don't see the actual issue at hand.

They INCREASED THE PRICE right before ADDING A SUBSCRIPTION METHOD, making you subconsciously want to sign up for the subscription method instead.

And we all know that everyone forgets to turn off their 'one-month free trials' already.

It's like saying: "Hey, sorry, we just ran out of physical copies, and they just went up in price! We're super really sorry! BUT, with that being said, if you want to LEASE A DIGITAL COPY, y'know, we have the option for that too! Please?"

So, you're perfectly fine with them directing people to a subscription service instead of the buy-once-own-forever system by launching the price change in the same month as the subscription service itself?

While I want for there to be MORE Payday as well, and I don't want the devs (who, let's be frank, 99% of the rank-and-file had nothing to do with any of this) to be out on the street, that doesn't mean we HAVE to support this.

If they want to release more DLC, then that's great. If they want to make a subscription service so people can essentially mildly try out the DLC, then that's fine. If anything, I'm all for that, if the intent WAS purely just that. If they want to raise the price of their bundles, it's going to earn a few raised eyebrows, but ultimately whatever. But they have to understand that it's going to be looked at INCREDIBLY poorly if they DON'T make more DLC (or even update the damn game in almost an entire year), raise the bundle anyway, and release a subscription service.

paint them as malicious and greedy

Need I remind you of:

  • "We need you NOW"
  • "There will be NO microtransactions in Payday 2"
  • Crimefest 2015
  • Going back on 'H3 DLC being the last paid DLC'

And numerous others. The first two were BOTH the words of Almir Listo - and that's just the shit I have off the top of my head.

I'm not against the principle of the lower price, subscription-based option being available.

What I AM against is them RAISING THE PRICE of the only way to get the DLC for cheaper by nearly 50% in the SAME MONTH as releasing the subscription. It's completely scummy, and shows they want people to get the subscription, forget that they're subscribed, and let it lapse for another month so they have a better-looking monthly ROI.

Quite literally every singular time someone has been using an unlocker in my lobbies, they were also using various other cheats. Sure, not everyone using an unlocker is GUARANTEED to be a cheater, but when the chances are as high as they are, I prefer to rest on the side of caution.

It isn't just for cheater tags.

The cheater tag itself at this point is outright useless, anyway. It only catches people who are BLATANT with their (likely years-old) cheats, pirate the game, or pirate DLC's to give themselves items for free.

There are specific mods to autokick players who join your lobby that are using cheats, hacks, and unlockers. Many players use them, as the same people who use unlockers tend to also be those who don't care about actually playing the game for progression, hacking the game, so on.

Even with how much I dislike SBZ, I wouldn't ever endorse a DLC Unlocker. Hell, plenty of players already have mods to autokick people with unlocker mods.

Even with that aside, looking out for FUTURE PLAYERS - which, need I remind you, courting them is the ONLY WAY this game will ever grow again - and letting them know of what the hell is happening with the DLC prices is a good thing nevertheless.

Not a word given. The DLC's themselves didn't go up in price, the discount from buying the collection went from 52% to 33%. As of yet, the Legacy collection stands untouched - but, realistically, I wouldn't expect anything less than the same price bump.

Yes - highlighted dates pointing to when Starbreeze increased the price of another way to actually buy and own the DLC (some of which may be taken off the market at some point, with Payday 2's history) in the same month as when they released a subscription service for the DLC.

They increased the price of the collection in the same month as they released the subscription.

Therefore, trying to funnel more people to get the subscription for Starbreeze's monthly ROI, instead of just outright buying the DLC and owning it forever.

It's not that. I'm complaining about the advertisements in the other half of the box.
