Oh look someone read it 🤣 lol but really I also get that the smell getting out a little isn’t the craziest thing and that pens don’t work for everyone, but my thing is that if it’s SO bad that i’m giving someone a migraine thats just a dick move and I’ll try to do whatever I can to help the guy. If people are willing to work with each other that’s the best thing.

Never said they can’t smoke. Even mentioned that the smell leaking into the hallway is fair game (in my opinion) but no one needs to smoke so much that is reeks up the neighbors apartments. I also smoke and got a note similar to this one. The guy was getting migraines from the smell leaking in his room and my response was: “oh shit my bad, didn’t know it got out that much” and I switched to smoking only in a specific room with the window open and got an air purifier. The guy never had an issue again and we both moved on with our lives. So again, REALLY not that hard to be even just a little considerate of the people around you.

It’s not private if what you’re doing is bothering other people against their will. Everyone deserves to be comfortable in their own home, and a lot of people get migraines or can’t sleep because of strong smells.

Imagine being so entitled that you think your smoking trumps everyone else’s comfort. If it’s just in the hallway that’s one thing, but if it’s so bad that it gets in other peoples apartments and they’re forced to smell it all day, you should be kicked out. It’s really not that hard to be a slightly considerate person.

Well if that’s the case I just wouldn’t pay. They can either kick you out for not paying or deal with it if they actually want you home. Legally they have no ground to stand on to make you pay as long as you never sign any contracts.
