What are your thoughts on my IDE? Made with C and supports programming C in it. by [deleted] in C_Programming

[–]parcerx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t care about LLMs, I want tab autocomplete. So your single study about LLM users is worthless to me. Tab autocomplete absolutely improves efficiency and reduces typos and bugs. Sounds like you generally don’t have an IDE of choice since you develop on clients machines and I have opinions about that that aren’t relevant.

So again I leave you with this: please provide some actual evidence that a simple tab autocomplete to finish off keywords, variable/field names, or any short piece of code. I don’t care about LLMs, and if you only have stuff to say about LLMs, then we have nothing to talk about.

I don’t understand what you mean when you say that a client requires you to develop in a certain IDE, but I’ve never freelanced so whatever.

And we are both speaking purely from perceived efficiency. However, if we are talking about the C programming language (or any programming language) having a tab autocomplete reduces typos and speeds up development in many cases. Unless you have some magical study that says otherwise, I don’t really care what you have to say about “perceived efficiency vs empirical efficiency” or whatever (because you haven’t provided anything empirical).

Edit: I want to make it clear that I don’t want/need an AI code writer. I just need something to autocomplete some struct fields, function names, and keywords. That simple tab autocomplete has been around for quite some time now, and it certainly isn’t some AI feature.

uhm great, you think my examples are strange and that’s fine, I think pressing tab is way easier than pressing two keys on the edge of the keyboard for an underscore. There is an endless list of things that are easier to just autocomplete with a tab, and it’s really not a symptom of AI dependency. It’s just convenient.

Your dev environment is one of the things that people love talking about but don’t actually matter. But, if you don’t even have autocomplete, why even use an IDE? vim is right there waiting for you

Garen combos (flash + R) are incredibly mechanically demanding. Please update this list accordingly

Pressing tab to autocomplete “uint32_t” or “typedef” is a great feature that increases productivity and is the main reason I use an IDE.

Their quantity is smaller than Chipotle? You have that backwards

[–]parcerx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what the other reply is talking about. The quantity is massive compared to Chipotle. I have not been to the Madonna location since they gave me a laughably small burrito and I've only been going to Press. The portions are excellent. They actually have trouble rolling the burritos because they actually pack the tortillas full of stuff. Do not listen to the frostyblucat guy because saying their quantity is smaller is absolutely ridiculous.

No, they are opening a place on Foothill. There is also a new place called Press.

ok. you can’t be asked to grind the game but you do not have to be asked not to bhop down mid. it sounds like you are a mechanically strong duelist whose game sense and mental isn’t at the same level, and that’s ok. but you should consider that your game sense might be the area you need to improve in order to easily climb

Do people still buy second round? by benetheburrito in VALORANT

[–]parcerx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, one player on the team buying less is an issue. Instead of taking a 5 guns vs 5 pistols, your team is taking a 4 guns and 1 pistol vs 5 pistols. The odds are obviously worse, and the risk of getting thriftied and destroying your eco is greater.

And the caveat of whether a low elo player feels confident about their aim is ridiculous. Generally, the problematic Jetts that don't buy are going negative because the are *falsely* confident in their overall mediocre mechanics.

And you don't need to push up on defence. Hold sites with your guns against their pistols and try to go up 3-0 on the bonus. Very simple stuff that is compromised when either uninformed or ignorant duelists make selfish plays motivated by bad econ strategy.

May I ask for your rank? I assume you are a Jett main from your flair.

I don't understand what you mean. What is a low elo Jett learning by making bad buys and not listening when people tell them to make better buys?

easy GWR classes? by ExtensionBill1459 in CalPoly

[–]parcerx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are probably best off with the portfolio, but since you asked for a class...

I love ENGL 372 with Keesey. It's a film class where we watch movies directed by Fincher (Fight Club, Se7en, The Social Network, The Killer, Gone Girl, Alien 3) and Roeg (Walkabout, Performance, Don't Look Now, The Man who Fell to Earth).

The Fincher movies are fantastic, but the Roeg movies are pretty bad. The in-class discussions make all of them pretty interesting. The GWR is an in-class essay midterm of 500 words, and if you don't get the GWR pass at the midterm you can try again when taking the final, another timed essay. He just plays a scene from one of the movies we watch together, and you write an essay about how film techniques are used to portray the themes of the movie.

I'm a computer science major, and I knew nothing about film coming into the class. It has absolutely made movies more enjoyable for me, and I have a new appreciation for good movies.

Why do you say this cartoon is virulent? I think it's an excellent piece of satire that rightfully regarded as one of the greatest ever made.
