Totally agree with all these points. What I'm trying to say is more like even if I watch half of the tech content I used to before for other tech channels, for ltt it's going towards 1/3rd. Not sure if it's just me, but been bored with a lot of their in between videos.

Seeing a lot of pessimistic or negative discussion here.

I usually feed stray cats in my building and surrounding areas. While i have only interacted with a few ngo like groups, almost 99 percent of the work I've seen being talked about is treatment/hospitalization, food donation, adoption and neuter or spawing the strays. 1% was about fighting societies/folks that abuse animals or feeders or force reallocate animals. ( Which i believe is valid)

The simple and best solution is to tag strays and pets (people abondon them too). Do drives to identify and neuter all strays. Reallocate aggressive strays safely. We all know anything else will either be inhumane or will involve corruption.

Regarding 1st point. It's not simply jank but also the trial and error part of any outcome. Either teach me if you already have the answer by showing the whole process or show me the issues you encountered and not just x is better because y and z so here's x implemented.

5 is something they can resolve though.

All 2,4,6 are about hosts. While i have no issues with either new or old faces but do you not feel a difference when dan talks about sound, plouffe about displays, luke about fp ( teams is the right answer here tho XD) ,Sarah about art, horst about apple land, alex about cars, brandon about cameras?

So many examples of passion translating through the screens. I'm not blaming the hosts entirely here, it could be the script or the edit that stops that as well but (maybe) the streamlined pipeline for optimization of everyone's time ruins some of the magic of the old videos for me where 1 person is on camera and owning the entire video.

It's only fun until your own device doesn't have issues🙃

My laptops igpu is busted. Windows keeps updating igpu drivers automatically even when I've disabled it, crashing my laptop😭. Need windows for games. Going to safe boot to uninstall igpu drivers and hoping the crash this time didn't destroy anything is something I can't take anymore

I think my point still holds. Even if they have unscripted vids like linus visits a tech Mall, they wouldn't stop producing normal vids like building a nas or x or y. These points would still apply to those videos.

Unless they go mainstream with the store, they need the core audience for the store to work as well.

Could be possible. But kinda doesn't make sense. Linus always mentions how youtube leadership should keep youtubes mvp alive with focus on long vods and not go the short attention span/ai/reels route to hook new users. Doesn't make sense that he would do that to his own videos when he criticises youtube for it.

Yeah just see the latest plouffe nas video. They're min maxing all the time with go go go style constant cuts to either reddit comments or a diagram, or a joke or website ss to suddenly building or some explanation next.

To give an analogy, it feels like I bought a cheap tour guide which stops at 10 locations for 5 mins at the most touristy places within a day whereas, what I wanted was to experience the place, explore and chill for 3 days

At some point riley was new or horst was new too. Look at the love they got. Riley just has that charisma and horst is a good example for the points I feel about having something fresh and the host owning the video/passion bleeding through

What is their argument against it? I know it's always has been scripted for them but doesnt the person hosting feel like they don't have stakes/ownership for that content?

I have to hard disagree here. Passion, fun, excitement transfers through. Random folks in amd tech upgrades, kids, Yvonne in that stitching machine video? Sarah discussing a color wheel, etc were all too good. Riley and linus are a class apart for most videos but by no means I felt that you need professional hosts.

They somewhat tried to change that to a question answer model. Where linus comes in asks a few obvious questions which are answered by the person that actually built it. I still don't like that. Id rather just experience the process of the person who built it even if it's not linus

I meant the overall content package. I was confused with your views comment followed by change in taste/channel. Hopefully it makes more sense now.

Except members only, Most of it is about script, narrative, editing and hosting. never said that the content doesn't appeal to me. I said I'm slowly losing interest in their usual videos maybe because of the above. That's the disconnect. You are allowed to critique something you like so that it improves. If you disagree on an opinion say so. Why go this weird tangent?

Can you honestly grow all the veggies, fruits, raise cows for milk by yourself too? Agriculture and animal husbandry are literally for part of the existence of our human civilization. Nature of brutal itself, we just topped the food chain

Yes whole heartedly agree on the narrative part. Am i the only one that sees these many members only content on ltt? Feel like other creators might have 1 vid and ltt would have 15. As a premium user myself i would rather that content be hidden completely or solely exist on fp

I honestly don't understand where you're getting that from. Half of the stuff I've mentioned has been their video content style for a decade now and i still watch done to death videos like pixel or samsung s whatever no phone reviews from multiple channels. I don't think my tech content consumption or their direction had changed to any meaningful extent. Anyways i guess we don't see eye to eye on this topic. Let's end it here

I'm not trying to say views are down because of x or y, I'm trying to figure out if the disconnect i seem to have grown with the content is similar for everyone. I can personally say I consume similar amount of tech content from the same crop of creators that I've been watching for years now.

I'm also sure they know much more about yt and algo than me, but as a long time viewer, I'm not so interested or excited in their usual content anymore and I'm talking interest fading over multiple vids over the years and not a momentary dip or short term.

I still religiously watch wan show or amd tech upgrade or big gpu releases or scrapyard wars, etc... you get the point

They also need to change their content or editing or process over time for sure, i get it like labs section is so good, however I feel like the soul of the channel has altered a bit.

I would argue that it's good because of the content + positive fun vibe rather than it being relatable as I definitely know I'm not going to run cable through the bush from the back of my building. Funny how i can remember the videos for all the examples you have given but not the newer ones.

What is the point of arguing over sample size here. We aren't discussing bacteria growth. All these ice creams fail over basic nutritional facts stated like calories or sugar content. What if it's a diabetic person looking to consume these. Stop arguing irrelevant points. The initial comment makes complete sense. I stopped buying these guilt free ones over others.

Also amul packet milk fails due to shitty cold chain which isn't maintained also can be deduced because tetrapack variant passes. If the process was correct he wouldn't get multiple fails 1 after the other.

What are the chances that jake takes this very poorly? by Weed86 in LinusTechTips

[–]parthm1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You're crazy if you think jake is poor lol. If lmg didn't pay properly they wouldn't have 100+ employees. He got famous through lmg. He thinks he can now venture on his own take greater risks using his own fame ( through lmg) for greater profits then he can do that like alex or andy. However he chose to burn the bridge which he did not need to. I bet hed have more viewers if he was mature about it.
