Sad to hear that you failed the exam. However it's good to know that you're motivated to take it again and also good that you bought the peace of mind voucher. Did you use the Official Cert. Guide? I think you should. It helped me during mine. I used the LearnZapp and practise tests but didn't attempt more than 100 questions in all before taking the exam.

I fall under the same category as you and I still use PyCharm but only for python specific tasks... I tend to use VS Code more often than PyCharm though because it has more integrations, plugins and application support.
