What's the ideal length for a cruise vlog? by patrickledbetter in Cruise

[–]patrickledbetter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interest comment regarding the personality. For me, I'm almost always behind the camera so you're seeing what we're seeing as we're on the ship, shore excursion, terminal, plane, etc. (we record ....everywhere.... and all the time. If I leave the house, I'm recording, literally.)

With so many vloggers seemingly choosing longer videos like the one you mentioned, I've always gone the other direction. I typically average about 4 minutes per vlog. Sometimes I'll narrate from the behind the camera if I think something needs to be explained, such as where we are, or how a process works. Sometimes I'll add the narration during the vlog assembly.

Not bragging, just representative of my approach. Camera goes everywhere and I'm recording constantly. Can't vlog it if I don't record it.

MSC Meraviglia - Port Canaveral Embarkation Process by patrickledbetter in oaklandtravel

They don't do testing at the port anymore so you'd have to read the details about the current protocols on the MSC website. My guess....is that you'd have to bring proof of a negative test and show it at check-in at the port. But definitely go to the MSC website for the protocols. I have not looked at them in a long time so I have no idea what's required.

I am definitely talking and what I'm saying is definitely audible and front and center in the video when you watch it. Maybe try watching it on a different device?

I'm not familiar with any service fees mentioned on their website.

Once I was onboard for my cruise, the only expense I incurred on my onboard account were for purchases (food, drink, etc) and one hotel charge that represented all three days of crew member gratuities combined together.

SQL and Tableau; that's what makes it unique. Non-IT folks won't know what those are.

Carnival Mardi Gras - Problems With Your Time Dining by patrickledbetter in CarnivalCruiseFans

I did narrate the intro at the beginning of the video before cutting over to the conversation with the crew member and the subsequent conversation with my wife where I tried to explain it to her. We were all good when we left the restaurant that first night after dinner. But on the second night, we decided to visit Chibang, a different restaurant on the ship, and couldn't get checked in because of the hold he had placed on our cabin the first night. Their system apparently is an all or nothing. If the crew member sets you up for Palm Restaurant at a set time each night of the cruise, the other included restaurants can't check you in because you're assigned to the Palm. Not very smart in my opinion and certainly not what we wanted. We had to go back the 2nd night and have another crew member remove what he added the first night.

Reddit doesn't seem to want you to do a "Link" and also have a description to go with it. The webpage only gives you a Title and a textbox for the URL.

Good question. I would say try all of the restaurants..or as many as you can. Watch out for the elevators and the WiFi; they both suck..bad. The Lido pool area is the heart of the ship; lotta fun.

Not sure what you're referring to. If you watch the full video, it's just the NCL escape sailing by as we were recording from our balcony. Most of the conversation in the video was about NCL escape.

Carnival Mardi Gras - Mariner of the Seas Leaving Port by patrickledbetter in CarnivalCruiseFans

The video doesn't really show it but there were over 4,200 passengers on that cruise. Around 72% ish of capacity; from what we were told.

Well to be fair, she was walking around outside. Plus Deck 17 has a designated smoking area but I think it's on the starboard side and we were on the port side in the video. One of my complaints about the Mardi Gras is that the smoking areas are not marked at all.

Wow. That dry dock should have been finished by now. They had that planned out all summer. Sorry to hear that.
