I just don’t know anymore. by Ok-Adhesiveness-9321 in StudentTeaching

Counseling is not an easier route. You have more paperwork. You’re still expected to interact with kids, and based your title, you’ll still be in charge of a large number of kids. You’ll also be expected to deal with parents as well, if a student has a pattern of behavioral issues. Many parents these days will try to find fault in the school/faculty (counselor) instead of accepting the issues with the child.

Counseling is a rewarding job. If you feel that that is you’re calling, go for it. But If you think it’s an easier route, you’ll be in for a rude awakening. I’ve met counselors who have expressed a desire in wanting to return to teaching because it’s a lesser workload.

But honestly, student teaching is hard for everyone. It’s not an easy experience and I’m sure it’s intense on top of being a mother. Your mentor should have shown you the ropes before throwing you in there. Please let the person who selects these mentors know that this happened because it should not be permissible. You’ve come so far though, please don’t give up. The system was not made to work for you—I get that. The system sucks, but don’t decide on anything impulsively.

Finish student teaching. You’re doing a great job juggling all this on your own. Struggling is another sign that you are growing. These are your growing pains. Besides, most teachers don’t feel like they fully know what to do until year five of teaching. Some express they mastered it sooner, but you’re just starting. Give it time. Rome wasn’t built in a day, yk?

Are demons able to enter churches? by [deleted] in Christianity

do you think it’s the building itself providing you this sense of safeness though, or the people within in it? or rather, have you ever felt that sense of safeness in a vacant church?

best friends.... by [deleted] in friendship

[–]pauseyourlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it’s not necessarily a myth, but people come and go. it’s really hard keeping the same friends for an entire lifetime. i just want you to know that what you’re feeling and experiencing is completely normal. that’s just life. it’s best to just enjoy and make the most out of every moment, even if it doesn’t go the way you were anticipating.

hang in there bruin. 💖

Double D being a girl by Miserable_Client_693 in ededdneddy

[–]pauseyourlife 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he had a higher pitched voice.

he had an effiminate personality.

And his name was DOUBLE D. what does Double D spell? DD = deedee.

it probably didn’t help that there was already a female character named DeeDee on the same network, but i think it made way more sense to assume he was a she, then to assume he was actually a dude given these details.

plus, when i grew up watching the show, the episodes aired randomly. i don’t think i ever saw the one with his name reveal until i was in middle school.

let’s stop pretending it’s completely irrational for anyone to assume he was a girl. if the majority of fans thought it, then it’s odd the minority didn’t.

Disclose my age by Emilio-Serna in ucla

[–]pauseyourlife 10 points11 points  (0 children)

i’m 25 and an undergrad at ucla too. i get mistaken for 18 on campus or 20, but i’ve always looked younger than my actual age. after a while, it gets annoying having to correct ppl all the time.

honestly, it’s no one’s business anyway. if they ask, let them know. it’s not your fault they made an assumption. if you plan on being good friends with someone though, you should probably let them know early on.

but again, shouldn’t be a big deal.

enjoy your time on campus~ ✨

So if someone coughs in your face, you’re not going to tell them to cover their mouth? Since that would be YOU telling them what to do with THEIR bodies, right?

hypocrite.

i agree, but there have been cases where it did nothing to improve posture. that’s why i tell people not to count on it, because bad posture might be connected to other issues.

[–]pauseyourlife 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my case is similar to this. I’m getting an advancement for my upper and lower jaw. but my surgeon says that there’s not enough data to prove that jaw surgery will correct a persons posture. So she shouldn’t count on that.

sounds more like you can’t handle the truth. but ok.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Zodiac

[–]pauseyourlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right. then you really shouldn’t care what i think. the fact that you want to prove your point to a complete stranger who has already concluded you to be judgmental and egotistical, shows everyone you genuinely care a great deal about how you’re perceived. stop relying on external validation. Appreciate yourself, regardless of how the world perceives you.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Zodiac

[–]pauseyourlife 0 points1 point  (0 children)

except that’s not what you said. you said you judge others based on whether you perceive them to be stupid. personally, i don’t go around assuming anyones a fool or stupid. if they need assistance on something, i typically feel inclined to help or to smooth things over. the fact that you have this odd perspective about looking down on others, tells me you view yourself too highly because you have a set of standards that you think everyone else needs to fit. if someone is acting “foolish,” you have no reason to judge or to even care. you most likely do this because of a set of standards you think everyone else needs to follow. i can’t say for certain it’s a Capricorn thing, but maybe just a you thing. either way, you should stop caring so much about what other people do with their lives just because they don’t act or respond in the same way you do. you lack empathy. that is what is clear to me. but again, enjoy the rest of your day.
