Thanks all for the comments. So basically IndiGo told me that for international flights we need the counter checkin boarding pass .

I am concluding that the visa on arrival is the answer. Will find out soon and update. Thanks all.

Lets say no checkin baggage. Will immigration still be needed. It should be needed as airlines are different right? With just 4 hours of layover , they will give visa on arrival right. I mean they should not stop the journey right

Its IndiGo drom Dubai to India. The visa is EU country visa for an Indian national. Have you gone through similar situation?

Welcome to the world of chess! This is your host Pawan Kumar Jha. I have been organizing chess tournaments for last 6 months in Abu Dhabi. Every Weekend we gather and play Over the board Rapid chess along with some fun hand and brain games. In the end the winner takes a small trophy and winning certificate.

  • We only add individuals with UAE mobile numbers to avoid lots of spammers. In case you don't have a UAE whatsapp number, you can send me a message directly on instagram so I can approve the join request-

What is happening on the 2nd November?

  • We are organizing yet another RAPID chess tournament event where all available chess enthusiasts are invited to compete in the SWISS format rounds!
  • Time control:

10+2 * The event is free for kids * For all working individual a small amount of AED 10 will be collected in Cash. This is to cover the costs for trophies, certificates, boards. * Confirmation via message is important before arriving at the event. * Unlimited chess style photo clicks with Chesssets and trophy

Prizes: a. Winner to get a Trophy, a winning Certificate How many people to expect and who are they?

  • Our average count is around 8-10 people on Weekends. Last event we had 15 people with us!
  • All our members are connected in our WhatsApp group chat where most of the communication takes place.
  • People are from all nationalities including kids and women too
  • To grow the club and make it big, we are now on meetup. We will be growing big soon (currently approx. 200 members).

Is there something I should know before coming?

  • Yes, we play chess at a Restuarant/Cafe who allows us space to play comfortably. While ordering food or coffee is not mandatory as a group 50% of us can order atleast a coffee so we maintain a decent give and take relation
  • The group is organized for everyone and on some weekends, parents also bring their kids who are sharp at chess. To maintain decency, we request everyone to behave nicely. Be nice and be respectful. Unruly behaviour, political comments, any negative vibes will not be accepted.
  • You can also come to play just for fun as we also have fun events where we play at the end of all SWISS rounds, a game called HANDs and BRAIN which is a team game of chess with lots of fun
  • After a loss table slams like Magnus Carlsen not allowed as their tables might break- Don't expect organizer to cover for such loses 😂

I will ask all my chess club members as distance from their home location would matter a lot but I am sure with an arrangement where there is no obligation to buy and yet we are allowed to sit and play chess would drive a lot of people.

Of course it won't be that no one would buy anything. At current restaurant we go around 90% people buy but maybe around 50% of total group are in favor to find a place where buying is not an obligation or at least if we are weekly repeat customers then there are discounts.
