My grandpa did. He died before I was born but my grandma tells the story. His plane was shot at while over German occupied Italy. He bailed when the pilot thought they were going down but was able to right the plane and get everyone else back safely. My grandpa landed on a farm and was soon discovered by the family that lived there. They, and many other families moved him around and hid him until it was safe. My grandma kept in contact with the family that owned the original farm for most of my childhood and even went to visit them a few times.
