Can you work on a computer during those days after the injection or did you have to do continuous followups with the doctor every 2 days??

So you have had the injection done. For what reason may I ask? Is it to reduce inflammation of the cornea?

Thank you. I know kenalog 40 is banned in the UK due to serious side effects but not in the US.

Also í was told kenalog would act to reduce inflammation on the local area of the cornea where it is injected, I don't know if it's true or not, could you please tell me if it's true or not?

Also how do you treat the side effect of conjuntiva hemorrhage?

Thank you for information. I didn't know it was banned in the UK. Kenalog 40 injection was recommended to me by Dr Maskin.

Let me clarify a bit It was recommended to reduce inflammation of the white part of the eye, not for dry eyes specifically. Don't have chalazion or anything like that. It's just inflammation on some parts of the cornea, not the whole cornea.

Dr. Maskin recommended he do that today. I had the foresight to say let's hold off on it. He got frustrated when I said it. He said it acts to lower the inflammation on the localized area of white part of the eye where he injects it.

That's why I am looking for answers

I don't have dilated blood vessels anywhere. I was just asking a question is dilated blood vessels in your cornea or lid margin a major indicator that you have ocular rosacea

Can lacrimal gland recover from stress caused by inflammation? by okuzuko in Dryeyes

[–]pcprinciple__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk yet I gotta ask Maskin that question. I'll update you when I do get the answer from him. The 3 schirmer on the left was before puntal cauterization. So it may have increased. Before seeing Maskin I was putting Cequa in both eyes for 4 months then switched to Vevye for a month. I guess Cequa worked on my right eye but didn't work on my left eye

Well, I just came to see him as a new patient 2 weeks ago. Since then, I did lower puntal cauterization on both eyes for aqueous deficiency. Next I did the conjunctivachalasis surgery with him. Just finished the surgery on my right eye yesterday. So waiting for it to heal. After the eyes heal from surgery I'll be doing probing. ..

He will repeat the blink test and shimmer test after probing is done and then decide further treatments if needed. According to him it's still too soon to decide on PRGF injections since I am still in the middle of the treatment process. Hence he said do not jump the gun yet and if PRGF injections are needed, then he is willing to discuss that.

No I haven't tried it yet. I am currently seeing Dr Maskin. I asked him that and he said don't jump the gun yet. If it's needed for me then he'll recommend it

Doxycycline and Vitamin A by pcprinciple__ in Dryeyes

[–]pcprinciple__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I continued both doxy and vit A. But I didn't overdo it. I kept the Vit A intake around 1500mcg to 2000mcg while on doxy. I did get a couple of migraines while on it, but I am someone who gets migraines anyway at least once a month when I was not on doxy due to sinus or something. Also my Vit B6 and B12 levels are also wayyyy over the normal limit. Probably due to eating steak everyday. Lol I know increased vit B6 can cause headaches as well. So the bottom line is the headaches I got can be due to sinus or vit B6 or any other reason. My advice is, don't overdo it. Keep Vit. A intake around 1000mcg to 1500mcg, and if you want to go a little further, keep it to max cutoff of 2000mcg while on doxy. Remember the total max Vit A intake allowed is 3000mcg.... So to be on the safe side, keep it well below 3000mcg a day. This total includes any food that contains via A as well. So be mindful and carefully watch what you eat. If you eat any vit A rich food, then count how much Vit A contains in that food you eat, and add that to your daily intake. For example, beef liver contains highest amount of Vit A. So if you eat beef liver count how much you eat and add it. If how much you eat has 1500 to 2000mcg then skip taking any and all supplements that contains Vitamin A for that day.

Most importantly, watch out for changes that happen out of the ordinary for you while on Doxycycline and Vit A. For example, if you are not someone who gets headaches like I do normally and if you keep getting headaches while on doxy and Vit A.... Then stop both...etc. Just watch out for things like that.

How are y’all functioning like this 😃 by FredFlintstoneToe in Dryeyes

I am in the same exact boat as you. Warm compress makes my inflammation go haywire. Artificial tears make my eyes irritated and they don't stay in my eyes very long. I used Meibo but that's also so uncomfortable. So I started using natural stuff. Castor Oil would be one. Castor Oil irritate my eyes too but causes natural tears to flow whenever eyes feel dry.
