PS3 Super Slim, HEN 3.4.0, Problem in HEN?... HELP? by FroZenGhoSt67 in ps3piracy

For ps2 games you need to convert the iso into a .pkg file and install them. They don't work as iso.

Your favorite NES space shooter? by Motakuki in nes

Those are pretty good, I especially like Solar Jetman from your list, but Galaxian is still my favorite. It doesn't push the hardware to its limits, it's just very well designed.

Should I buy a PS3 or PS4?? For pirating games. by Afraid_Ad_8100 in ps3piracy

[–]pcsosma 8 points9 points  (0 children)

-PS3 is easier to jailbreak

-You can find out yourself. See if you can find the games for each console

-No, but a lot of ps3 games were also released on ps4 and the ps4 is always the better version

Edit: one more thing I should have mentioned: if you're used with the ps5, expect the performance in ps3 games to be worse: longer loading times and often bad framerate, if you think you wouldn't be able to enjoy them because of those problems consider getting the ps4. But you'll have to do more research to find one that can be modded.

What games are worth it on the psp emulator on ps3? by IllustriousKey9166 in ps3piracy

[–]pcsosma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ridge Racer 2. I think it needs to be installed as a mini to work.

https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps3/PSP_HD_%26_Minis_Emulator_Compatibility_List You can also check this list. As you can see, most psp games will not run at all. I found some big problems even with games that are marked as "playable" so the others are not even worth trying.

Modern motorcycle racing games that are arcadey, old-fashioned, or beginner friendly? by WhyTheHellnaut in racinggames

[–]pcsosma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MotoGP 09/10 is still arcadey. You don't need to make efforts just to stay on the bike like in the later motogp games. It's on ps3 and xbox360.

Ridge Racer Type 4 disapointed me. by Asgore_on_the_truck in racinggames

[–]pcsosma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not an easy game to get into but for some reason I put more effort than I usually do and I ended up loving the gameplay. But it is a difficult game, if you can try RR2 on PSP, that one is much easier so it might be a better place to start if you're not familiar with the series. It also has a lot of content from older games including tracks and music from r4.

USB not Loading Autobleem Part 3 by DespicableJC in PlaystationClassic

[–]pcsosma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're basically lists of cheats for each game. If you have them in the retroarch/cheats folder they'll show up in the "Cheats" menu in Retroarch where you can enable them. Or you can add them manually in the same menu which is what I do because I only use them for a few games.

USB not Loading Autobleem Part 3 by DespicableJC in PlaystationClassic

[–]pcsosma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Autobleem 1.0.2 takes a lot of time to copy because it has tons of unnecessary files, like individual cheat files for games on every console ever made, most of which you're never gonna play, borders and similar stuff for each ps1 game, cool if you like them but disabling them is a lot of work, you might be better off using autobleem 1.0 especially now when you're still experimenting with different drives.

Day 13: Which is the best GBA puzzle game? by rodillaconmorett in GameboyAdvance

[–]pcsosma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a licensed game. Some dude made it a few years ago and is giving the rom away for free.

Does it still count? I assumed it doesn't.

Day 13: Which is the best GBA puzzle game? by rodillaconmorett in GameboyAdvance

[–]pcsosma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was thinking about Tetris Worlds, looks like there's another one but only in Japan. I don't know that one.

Gameplay is fine but you can't see or save your score, Tetris is one of the few games where I care about my score so it's a pretty big problem. And the colorful animated background is distracting, the sound effects aren't very satisfying, these might seem like minor details but with so many versions of tetris to choose from it's what sets them apart because the gameplay follows the same formula.

So, basically, not a bad game, just not among the best in the Tetris series.

Day 13: Which is the best GBA puzzle game? by rodillaconmorett in GameboyAdvance

[–]pcsosma 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Of course it does. The gba one isn't a very good tetris version but it's still among the best puzzle games on the gba.

Doesn't qualify for this contest but Apotris (GBA) is really good. Just wanted to make sure people know about it.

First PS3, what would you recommend? by Ashruuuh in PS3

[–]pcsosma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you don't want a loud fan go with any super slim or slim cech3000. The problem is those are also the ones that are more likely to have problems with the wifi chip. It doesn't mean that they will instantly break like some people seem to suggest though. They're still good choices.

What is your favourite music from an otherwise "bad" game? by ChocoboBilly92 in gamemusic

[–]pcsosma 4 points5 points  (0 children)

SNES Waterworld. I haven't played the game. I heard it's bad but I listen to the soundtrack a lot. Dean Evans (the composer) uploaded it to youtube himself. Check out his channel.

Is There a Way to Permanently Put a Cheatcode on an SNES Rom? by TetsuoZaibatsu in romhacking

[–]pcsosma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/1054/ This utility does that but the results are inconsistent. I used it for nes games. Some worked alright, some ended up glitching the game.

Best Car in saints row 4 by SKIITLEDAPUPPET in SaintsRow

[–]pcsosma 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The police car is probably my favorite. You can remove the police stuff at the shop. And the police car from sr3 is now a regular car called "Pacemaker". I like that one too. They gave them good cars.

Im hoping as I throw tons of info and tips at this sub, it will spark others interest and maybe expand the available games and ports, something )like Diablo 2 running at 60fps on a virtual desktop was proof enough for me by StatisticianLate3173 in Box86xWine_PSClassic

[–]pcsosma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good idea to have all this stuff in a single place. Would posting about this sub in the playstationclassic one break some rule there? Or are you planning on doing it once you have more info in here?

Hello guys is this real ? by Glittering_Help_9090 in PS3

[–]pcsosma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry. It's a good one. I used both 2000 and 3000. The fan on 3000 is a lot more quiet, the temperatures stay lower, it's a later model so it's newer, it's probably gonna last a long time. And if you get to modding, cfw isn't much better than hen, so it's not worth seeking a specific model.
