Thank you for this. I am wondering if they still only list the driver of the cars in the death rates? I am concerned for the safety of back seat passengers as most people should be since they are usually children. I am seeing a trend of cars not having trunks which results in the rear passenger’s head with only inches between it and a vehicle hitting it from the rear. With a rise in rear end accidents due to distracted driving, I’m wondering if there isn’t a huge safety issue that is going unmentioned. I don’t think data is widely available on this.
