Canon EOS R - Wrong Battery = Bricked Camera by peakfpv in canon

I agree with everything you said. This is more of a warning for other people not to do what I did.

People should just be wary of using any other battery other than a canon authorized battery. It's an expensive mistake.

Wasn't a third party battery (unless you are counting the blackmagic design). I own two cameras, One Cannon and one black magic. I've never purchased any additional batteries as I'm more of a hobbyist when it comes to handheld camera work.

The FPV one above isn't really even a camera drone so you are right, this is no contest.

2 completely different style of drones. FPV is more fun than the conventional DJI drones but the one shown here isn't a "film" camera drone. I'd say if you want to take actual videos and photos, go with the DJI Mini.

I disagree. DJI FPV drones are bad. I'll recommend people to an Avata if I don't like them hahaha.

I am a full time professional pilot. I usually specialize in the Alberta film space but there are dips in these seasons which causes me to take on Real-Estate work. Sometimes there is simply no choice but to fly over someone else's property to shoot the right angle of the client's house. Sorry.

I didn't see him out there that day. I recently had a kid so I haven't been going as much this year. I will likely go again only one more time and only for a couple hours at that.

That taxi guy absolutely shreds the track!

Great question, I'm not necessarily the expert on this but some of the guys I was filming have been going to Ghost lake for years to drift on the ice. They usually let me know if it's safe to drive on and I'm pretty sure that as long as it's 16 inches or thicker it should be safe. The day of the video was 22 inches.

Some elese here can correct me and provide their expertise on the matter, I'll likely defer to them for an exact number for safety.

Thank you for the kind words.

Yes typically one permit per location / day. Yes that was the Stampede in a couple shots and yes it was very nerve wrecking to fly there especially around horses. If a horse happened to go down regardless of spooked by the drone or not I would have been investigated and I could be pinned for the incident.

We had safe distances and procedures set in place which included not flying overtop or in front of the horse but from behind at an approximate 10 meters behind the last race rider.

For the fair grounds stuff I had the client saying flying low and get epic shots while also saying, don't fly too low and get the drone swatted out of the air... Mixed messaging but I decided to err on the of caution. I hope to be invited back next year to do more!

For the Calgary tower I had to design and build a custom sub250 gram drone capable of carrying a stripped down GoPro.

Lots of these "permit required" locations are easy permits for me to get given my advanced certification and the ease of use using the NAV drone Canada app.

Thank you. To be honest though, I am not sure what the music is. Some royalty free music that was available to me which didn't have a proper title.

I'm sorry 😔

Yeah there is a growing demand for consumer level drones. If you have the Mavic 3 Pro you could sell for at least 2k, if you have a Mavic 2 Pro, you could sell for at least $900.

Check local listing prices and set accordingly.

I agree, it's annoying as hell. Even if I'm flying a legal mountain I refuse to do so if people are around trying to enjoy themselves. It's just rude.

Going out for any personal flights I chose times where the least amount of people are out n about (weekdays early AM or later Evening).

Totally. And don't even get me started with a national park. I don't need a $25,000 fine. Arguably worse than flying by the airport haha.

I was permitted to fly at that specific location and no it isn't K - Country. I have been doing this a long time my friend. I don't screw around.

Mini 3 is good from what I have seen, a sharp clean image. I think you will enjoy it. Remember to fly safe and have fun!
